I tend to agree. The Lincoln Riley rumors are there for a reason (UCF for starters). That $90M buyout is the only reason he might stick around in LA. He's been a complete failure, digressing more each of his three seasons.
Remember when he was hired and this board was fretting over USC becoming a juggernaut again?

Lol I most definitely do. I'll admit I thought he was going to be a problem, but now I'm trying to figure out where I can send my money to help keep him in LA!

I also thought LR was the best hire ever for USC and was pretty much thinking "Oh no" as well. Glad he is a trash can.
I’m never scared of the flashy OC type Head Coach. You can keep the Lane Kiffins, LR, dude from the Dolphins, etc… Usually produce soft teams.

The only hire they've had in the last 25 years I actually sat and laughed at was Pete of all things... LA went up in flames when they hired that 'failed bum' it was very memorable listening to their fans call into local sports channels and go ape over it,... and then,........

To be fair, it was a combination of him getting hired and the initial impression that USC was going to be a significant NIL spender, especially after they swiped Addison from Pitt. It doesn't seem like they're willing to spend enough to cover up his deficiencies though.

"I think NIL is ruining college football" -Brian Kelly

Also Brian Kelly: "My wife and I will match up to $1MM in NIL donations from fans."

Also his Heisman QB steak went cold.

I can't fault this one. You can not like the rules but still find ways to win within them.
It just cracks me up because he's always struck me as a politician. He says one thing but means or does another.

NIL is what it is. Stop bitching about it and solve the problem. ND is competing in this space and we "shop down a different isle"

I hope he stays for a while at USC, but if the NFL calls him for an OC job I can see him leaving.

Coach was actually the underdog tonight because of all the transfers, NFL sit-outs, and injuries. The QB and the ace WR came through big.

His secondary got torched for 440+ yards but they still somehow controlled the game.

Interesting to me that he's getting the number two transfer portal "class" for this season: including two edge rushers, two WRs, two DBs, and an OLine just recently ... all top 100. He may SAY he doesn't like the portal and the NIL but it seems it will hand him a good team.

Baylor sucks. They aren't the old Baylor team that could light it up, like Oklahoma St. did to us 3 years ago in the 2nd half.

BK will find a way to screw up next year too. USC beat them and he pounded his fist like a child, he's got Clemson at Clemson Memorial Stadium the first week and Florida in the 3rd week.
He's liable to flip a table this coming year and blame the players again.

Is FL really worth mentioning as a quality opponent? Thinking not!

Nussmeier is really damn good, if BK can’t make the playoffs next year with him then idk how he gets another year.
I agree. They also loaded up in the portal so they shouldn’t have any excuses to not make it next year.

in hindsight it’s amazing how much luck of the Irish was involved in that 2021 season to create the path for Freeman to become the coach. If Toledo just kicks a field goal instead of scoring the TD and ND loses no way LSU comes knocking and we are still stuck with BK. If ND beats Cincy there’s a good chance we end up with Fickell. So thank you Brian Kelly for doing what you always did, win the games you were supposed to and lose to teams on your level. We all owe you one

Nussmeier has another year? Feels like he's been around forever.

Turns 23 in February. He's young for college football.

Also if BK stays MF was probably leaving. He would have had to make another DC hire
