No legit news organization is reporting that the Saudi kid is going to be deported. It's only discredited crazies like Steve Emerson and Glenn Beck that are "reporting" that, and by reporting I obviously mean making up stuff so their crazy audience stays riled up and suspicious of dark people. If you're getting your news from worldnetdaily, The Blaze or the Sean Hanity program you aren't actually getting what the rest of us consider news. You're just getting a mostly imagined set of facts that advances the crazy viewpoints of these maniacs.

I also heard that they're deporting that 20 year old Saudi that they were "guarding" in the hospital....

What's the hurry?

Anything to this?
It has been reported that guys with baseball bats are showed up at the hospital. I have also heard reports of some "Southies" saying that the police had better find the culprit before they do. Its possible the Saudi has been cleared and rather than guard him at the hospital, he was returned home.

I am thinking right wing home grown terrorist. I agree with Bogs in my opinion only (I obviously have few facts and the poor journalism of network news to go on. It was Patriots day and Boston, Mass.

Waco, Columbine, Oklahoma City, and now this all on or near Patriots day, coincidentally near the tax deadline as well.

I am at work and not getting any news updates and just checked in here. I am not big fans of either of the guys above but have listened to them before. HOWEVER, I also would like to point out that there have been pundits out there blaming the "far right" for this with as much or less reliable information available to them.

Basically just wanted to point out that items like this are not reserved for one side of the political aisle.

Thanks for proving my point and posting this while I was typing right below it.

I blame the Martians personally and can provide just as much viable proof.

It's been impressive how the media and the general public have found ways to ruin lives of people who weren't even injured. There are going to be a lot of Richard Jewells, all of them Arab or brown because of racism as well.

No doubt. You won't find me pointing a finger at anyone or defending anyone who does. I just want everyone that is not law enforcement personnel assigned to the case to stand down, let the people hired to do the job do it, and stop interjecting themselves and making that job more difficult. In the process they will also be doing a favor to a bunch of people who were victims of an attack but have been or will be labeled as suspects in that attack because people on the Internet and in the media are stupid.

Jesus. This is why I hate the media and why I hate so many of the people on the Internet. Let the FBI and other law enforcement do their jobs and shut up about "who did it." You (not just you, NYC, but the general "you") don't know dick about who did what. You're just dragging innocent people through the muck.

Everyone that posted the picture of these two high school track runners as possible terrorists should go to jail for a week. The NY Post editors should spend the rest of their miserable lives in jail for their performance this week.

the post's person of interest is a local high school track runner

the boston bombing witch hunt bags another innocent kid

Counselor, i would think that you of all people would understand what "I think..." and "may be..." mean in a sentence.
i was just passing along/commenting on what i had just heard from Christine Candiotti over at CNN as she said it last night.
take your "there needs to be an end to all speculation as to any suspects" crusade up with the news agencies, internet sites etc that are the one's putting this stuff out.
we are simply discussing whats out there already, here in the confines of our IE community.
no harm in that in my view.
if you think us commenting on whats already out there in here causes grief and pain for an innocent guy to ever lead a normal life again then you are overestimating the power of IE.

i agree with you 100% that what the ny post did, and whatever news, internet sites do to put anyones name/face out there that is not a confirmed suspect is a real travesty of justice. you also need to keep in mind that even the feds and the official agencies can get it wrong on the "whodunnit" side, too.

No one should get a pass, except law enforcement. The problem with the news personalities and these amateur sleuths is their politics and prejudice cloud the truth and hinder the pursuit of the actual offenders.

We agree there. I'm not saying that these sites don't get things wrong and put out false info...but it's the public to blame.

In a sick way, we eat this stuff up.

Especially those of us blinded by our politics and prejudice

That is why I said in my post that I was not responding directly to you. I was just using your post as a jumpin off place for my comment.

And if you guys dont like speculation on the internet...Then I hope I don't see you on the recruiting profiles on IE ever again. LOL

Agree 100% sir. This is OUR thread, not YOUR thread.

People need to stop trying to set parameters for something that doesn't belong to them.

It's not about ownership, its about decency. If you saw somebody beating their spouse in an otherwise empty restaurant, would you not say something because it wasn't your restaurant (or your spouse)? Speculating about some things is fine, but making such serious accusations about real people is not OK.

Come on! Are you forwarding this info to any federal agencies?

Why is it such a problem to indulge in this? It's not as if anyone on here has accused any individuals....we're just shaaring info (good or bad). When the concrete stuff comes up, we post that as well.

In fact...EVERYONE, including the news and authorities are speculating at this point.

You don't have to read the stuff.

You shouln't be responding to anyone on IE with that comment, period.

We're all just speculating. No harm done. No one has been accused. Just interesting stuff

I don't have a problem with people posting links/pictures that pertain to the story, and encourage it. I'll let the mods decide what is decent or not. Personally, I enjoy seeing perspectives from every possible angle all condensed into one thread. Makes it easier for me to follow what is going on, or what people are talking about.

I know we covered this...But the more I read, the stranger it gets....

-According to terrorism expert Steve Emerson, 20-year-old Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi, the Saudi national first suspected of being involved in Monday’s twin bomb attack, is being hastily deported. Alharbi was put under armed guard in hospital after the bombing, was visited by Saudi diplomat Azzam bin Abdel Karim, and later had his apartment raided by federal and state law enforcement agents.

“I just learned from my own sources that he is now going to be deported on national security grounds next Tuesday, which is very unusual,”
said Emerson

At the current moment, it's far fetched...but not implausible. To just dismiss anything like this during an investigation is naive. At least deserves a look.

Report: Saudi National Questioned As Witness, Not Suspect

by Larry O'Connor 16 Apr 2013

Abdulrahman Ali Alharbi didn't bomb the Boston Marathon, according to the New York Daily News.

The 20-year-old Saudi man who has been seen as a "person of interest" to authorities in the Boston terror attack remains hospitalized with injuries from Monday's blast. His involvement in the bombings are being boiled down to "being in the wrong place at the wrong time."

Investigators removed several bags from Alharbi's home and questioned his roommate for five hours, but sources told the Daily News he is now merely being treated as a witness.

Meanwhile, Fox News is confirming the identity of Alharbi and repeats that he is not a suspect:

The source confirmed to FoxNews.com that the person of interest is Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi, a 20-year-old Saudi. His Facebook page identifies him as a current or former student at the New England School of English. He is believed to have entered the country on a student visa.

The source stressed that Alharbi is a person of interest, not a suspect, and said he suffered serious injuries in the explosion.

Meanwhile, Alharbi's Facebook page is being combed over by reporters. It features an eclectic mix of pictures showing the Saudi student in various locales and poses including one of him jumping for joy in Disney World and holding a gold-plated hand gun.

There are many articles showing what damage has been done to this kids life. This shows you how long ago he was cleared.

Thanks CNN......Noted.

HOWEVA!!!!

You do know, that if indeed this was a terror plot by a group, he couldn've been planted here? (not that it's the case, but it's not like it was impossible)

I hope he does well in the future.

Why are you so concerned about the race of the perps? If they were white it wouldn't make all whites guilty. If they are Arab it doesn't make all Arabs guilty. Whoever it was, whatever their ethnicity, they are sick people that aren't representative of the rest of their race or culture.

Just think if the store had invested in some semi-decent video surveillance equipment.

CBS News this Morning identified the individual authorities are looking for as a white male, 6' to 6'2", wearing a gray hoodie, black backpack and a white hat on backwards. They also indicated that the FBI has triangulated what they believe to be this individual's cell phone.

That's why, Rhode...That's why. I was responding to the reports that they're looking for that.

Is there anything else?
