Wow, sounds nasty. I guess if I ever go to Death Valley I'll be wearing Tigers gear haha

I was wearing an ND parka with a Leprechaun on the back. I even got some ugly stares in the airport on Sunday waiting to fly home.

In the game in Baton Rouge Davie's boys silenced Death Valley. ND scored on the opening kickoff using very wide splits and a effective TE drag. (wish we'd run more of that with Niklas and Koyack). ND was up 9 by the half. Some light drizzle started and a lot of LSU fans had enough. ND scored in the 3Q and it was like somebody stuck a giant pin in the side of Tiger Stadium and the LSU fans were sucked out. There were less than 5,000 ND fans in the stands but in the 3Q you could hear the ND fans outcheering the LSU fans. By the 4Q there were no LSU fans cheering. I think there band even left before the game was over. I've never seen a fan base quit like that. They were two scores and it was like they were getting beat by 50.

Their band has an interesting routine to whip the drunks into a frenzy pregame. The band marches in from one end zone playing their fight song infront of that section. Then the entire band bows to the fans in that end zone in recognition. The fans are standing and screaming.

They then turn 90 degrees to the far sideline. March over there, play, then bow. This section of the stadium erupts in noise trying to outscream the last group. They march down to the endzone where they entered and repeat and those fans go nuts. Then they march in front of the home side, play, bow in salutionation and the entire stadium erupts. It did whip the .20 BA crowd into a frenzy! THEN THE TEAM TAKES THE FIELD. Pandamonium!

ND could do this ... without the .20 BA (otherwise the IN Excise Police would ticket 80,000 people and well as anyone outside within earshot of ND Stadium). It is effective in working the sections of the stadium against one another and then rising in a cresendo. Even the gold seats would stand.

watched the Rutgers v UCF game tonight. wow. if we get/take the bid to the bronx--it will be a blood bath. rutgers has really fallen off. big payoff for a blow out in the snow and cold? id rather take a bit better competition.

what's everyone thinking about our bowl scenario now?

any chance we can get into that heart of dallas bowl on new years day? i know we were already in dallas this year, but i like the idea of playing there again for whatever reason.

anyone else got an idea or their preference?

Best payout: Pinstripe

Better opponent: Pinstripe

Better weather: Anything but Pinstripe

Pinstripe.

I would love to see a performance like either of the team's last two performances against Miami (dismantling of a *decent* opponent)... but saying ND playing Rutgers would be a "blood bath" seems odd considering they haven't blown anyone out aside from Air Force.

Could it happen? Of course, and I hope it would. Heck, I think the BYU game should've been a relative "bloodbath" if not for two missed TD's on underthrown passes and a brief defensive brainfart during BYU's TD drive. But, that's my point. ND finds ways to keep things closer than they should be.

A good amount of local writers / talking heads in both the greater Cincinnati area and Kentucky have been talking about this. Cincinnati writers believe it will be UC vs ND, unless UC can win the conference (they need UCF to blow a game, and they need to beat Houston and Louisville in their last two games).

The Kentucky guys I follow believe that if UCF hangs on to win the conference, a deal will get done to put Bridgewater against ND in the Pinstripe even though Louisville should technichally chosen before that. Secret handshakes and all that jazz.

Dan Murphy repeated this rumor on the BGI board today. Maybe it has legs?

I would love to see ND play Louisville. I just want to play someone who people will be impressed if we beat. I don't think we get anywhere as a program by beating up on Rutgers. But people might notice if we beat Louisville and national star Teddy Bridgewater.

I guess the Belk and Champs Sports would have to agree to not take Louisville. Cincinnati could probably get taken earlier, but it may be tough convincing the Champs Sports to take Houston/Rutgers/SMU instead.

Is there any scenario we could play UCLA? I would love to see us get a shot at Mora/Vanderdoes.

If we are to play in the Pinstripe Bowl, our opponent would be 8-4 Houston.

That's if we stick to the scheduling format of Big 12 #7 vs AAC #4

Lose-lose situation in any bowl we go to. It'll be against a terrible opponent. Win - They're terrible, whoop-dee-doo; Lose - LOL nD sUX. Might as well do it in a fertile recruiting area.

Not necessarily. The Hawaii Bowl was a big boost for morale in the program. Dismantling a lesser team this year can do the same.

Besides, if Michigan loses and Notre Dame wins, there is that all-time winning percentage for the entire off-season. That is important for all of the message board crap haha

You understand that is based on selection and not order of finish in the conference standings right?

If the warm weather bowl comes to fruition, the Poinsettia bowl would appear to be the easiest to get into without making any deals.

It pits MWC #2 vs Army... however, as we all know, Army is not bowl eligible. Makes it really easy to fill that spot in.

Anyway, #2 team is Boise State, whom in the past, has been a respectable opponent.

I'm not sure San Diego women could handle the swagger Diaco would throw at them though.

Aren't there a few more options for us with 8 wins instead of 7 wins? How can a game in Yankee Stadium be our only option?

I love this idea. ND draws well and bowls are about money. The rest of college football can suck it.

Whatever bowl we get into, I hope we win it on a field goal return as time expires....that was spectacular.
