Petrino is a darn good coach. I think they have a legit chance at that garbage man convention...

It would be pretty awesome if WKU could put together a couple more upsets this year. It could turn into a pretty good season if they do. They're off to a great start already!

it seems to be the only BIG time job that could open up unless something tragic or scandal happens somewhere...UNLESS Golden would entertain with the NFL ...but both USC and Miami with the issues they have had maybe a lil scared w/ this hire..but winning trumps a lot of things at colleges and universities

But I would think Pat Haden wants to hire a class act though (to restore some honor to USC), which would eliminate Petrino. I can see him at Virginia Tech or Texas soon though, wrecking all types of offensive records.

If Beamer were to step down I could see VA.Tech making a play for Petrino. Hard pressed though to see Delois Dodd wanting to bring Petrino to Texas. He values the image of the program too much.

I always though Golden should have taken the PSU job and opened the door for Petrino to Miami.

There are a lot of potential sweet openings for Petrino next year:

Big 10: Illinois
Big 12: Texas, Kansas
SEC: Mizzou
ACC: Maryland, Virginia, Va Tech
PAC-12: USC

Decent home-state talent in recruiting, decent talent already on the roster. I would like to see what Petrino could do at Virginia, especially with Mizzel at RB.

i dont think he moves on, i was thinking canned. ive just started hearing some talk about not happy with him and rubbing some folks the wrong way. personally, i think he has done good things and doesn't warrant that talk. but, you know how it goes if you **** the wrong people off.

He was available when Purdue hired Hazell. They didn't want Petrino and his reputation.

Time heals all wounds and changes perceptions. Eventually someone will want Jim Tressel. In just a few short years a team like Arkansas forgot what a screw loose John L Smith was. In think in time someone will go after Petrino too.

Someone is going to go after Petrino as soon as their regular season ends. My guess is that there are quite a few schools that would take him with a full year of "cool down" on the situation.
