Apparently, Coach Brian Kelly is in talks with the Canadian Football League.

Earlier this morning, he met with the Lingerie Football League.

That is all.

I keep reading this thread and continue to shake my head. Not at you guys but rather the situation at hand. I have often thought this could happen with our coach and his track record when he arrived here from Cinci. I didn't believe it though once the success on the field happened proving it can be done again at Notre Dame. I am proud of Kelly for what he has accomplished and more so of the players for giving me some great memories this year! To say the least, I'm very disappointed right now but one way or another this will get resolved and we will have a great group of kids to cheer for. I hope it's Kelly who remains to roam the sideline for years to come! If not, you can laugh all you want, Chucky, get your *** up to South Bend and take the crown from Saban! That is all.:)

Whoever Rivals is getting their info from.

Would it be beyond people on the internet to make stuff up?

Actually I think asssistant coach thing may be accurrate. I don't think we wants other schools stealing his guys. At least not stealing them for lateral moves promotions is a different story.

CBS's Dennis Dodd just published an article about this:

For now, Kelly's wandering eye is a referendum on ND's ability to stay good. Now he knows how far the Irish have to come to even challenge Bama, if they ever challenge Bama.

Win 12 again in 2013? Not likely. Kelly now knows how many shamrocks had to be picked, how many things had to go right, how many prayers had to be said, how lucky his team had to be to get to No. 1. It won six games by nine points or less. It survived overtimes with Stanford and Pittsburgh. It intercepted five Michigan passes and won by a touchdown.

Will the magic be sustained -- because that's what it's going to have to take? The defensive line – perhaps the strong point of the team – was pushed around Monday night. The playoff era is going to make it easier to get in the championship hunt – four teams vs. two – but harder to win. For everyone.

Winning 10 at Notre Dame probably won't be enough, pretty much from now on for Brian Kelly. Ask Weis or Willingham. The bar has been set.

But in the NFL, Kelly also knows that 10 wins gets you into the playoffs -- pretty much every year.

I would love for a coach to have more then one good year before giving him a huge contract extension (i.e. Weis). I was hoping BK would be our coach for the next decade but he obvouisly is just looking for the mighty dollar. So, who is the next coach at ND?

BK needs to take a page outta Manti's (and others') book and stay in SB.

However, until he leaves or it negatively impacts recruiting (we lose a commitment or a player declares or transfers) I am not upset at all. BK hasn't left and we're in great shape. He is entitled to interview for stuff even if it is posturing for better pay. No biggie.

By this logic almost every coach at a big program should be leaving for the NFL. This logic is faulty in so many ways. Leave college for the pros because the playoff will make it harder to win, but the pros has a playoff which will make his job easier? Stupid.

Maybe Dennis Dodd and BK should ask Lovie Smith if 10 wins is enough in the NFL.

ND should have made enough money off merch this year to pay Kelly and the AC's what they want for a while

Blah, Yeah 10 wins gets you to the playoffs in the NFL, and 10 wins are so much easier to come by in the nfl than in college especially with all the experience Kelly has coaching in the nfl. And the Seahawks who are in the playoffs now didn't squeeke by any wins, or have any calls go there way (I.E GB game). Dennis, your basically saying Kelly knows it's too hard to coach at ND, so he might as well get up and take the easy job and go to Philly. Why, because Reid lasted there for so long that Kelly is going to automatically succeed? Reid stayed because he won and consistantly won, all Kelly has shown is he can succeed in his 3rd year, but beyond that, no one knows. And to assume Kelly would last until his 3rd year in Philly is as much of a stretch as us making it NCG next year w/o Kelly.

Maybe a cheesy video will convince Kelly to stay at Notre Dame.
