Well, now I'm using Alan Page and Sean Cwynar, anymore examples?

How many do you feel you need? The landscape is scattered with "eligible" Irish football players who have made a mark beyond and outside of football.

Mike Anello-
Working for General Catalyst, a venture capital and growth equity firm in Boston.

Building on his experience with St. Baldrick’s Foundation at Notre Dame, Anello put together an event in Boston. With the assistance of several ND alums—and even a few former BC football players—the event was a huge success, raising more than $30,000 to help fight children’s cancers.

Find the ones you can't live without and hold them close this holiday season. So many people I'm blessed to have met and be involved with including so many of you. I'm very happy to be acquainted with all of you.

So remember that Christmas is a celebration of the good in the world. Put behind you your worries and troubles for just 24 hours and love your family, your friends, and your fellow man.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday Season!

A statement so outrageous that Beau deserves to be shunned for all IE awards.

Happy Holidays and Blessings to Everybody.

Still love these young men and this program despite the outcome tonight.

Prayers to Kap and any other banged up warriors.

Thank you to all the seniors and players leaving for everything you've done.

To all the returning players, the offseason starts now.

Go Irish.

The Builder

The Builder

I saw them tearing a building down --
A team of men in my hometown.

With a heave and a ho and a yes yes yell,
They swung a beam and a sidewall fell.

And I said to the foreman, "Are these men skilled?
"Like the ones you'd use if you had to build?"

And he laughed and said, "Oh no, indeed.
"The most common labor is all I need.

"For I can destroy in a day or two
"What takes a builder ten years to do."

So I thought to myself as I went on my way...
Which one of these roles am I willing to play?

Am I the one who is tearing down
As I carelessly make my way around?

Or am I the one who builds with care,
To make the world better because I was there?

Beau, nice poetic sentiment, and almost a mantra of the intelligent sector of the environmental community. VERY tough to be a creator/builder when you are not only doing the more difficult build-vs-destroy work, but almost impossible if you're trying to do something which has conventionality, therefore regulation and fear, arrayed against you.

Keep up your spirit. Do something that makes you feel like your day was worth while each day. Even the "losses" are easier to absorb then. I was a teacher. That was one "accepted" way.

I was a co-anchor on a sports radio show that covers Delaware County sports tonight. It was pretty fun. It was a basketball game which is admittedly not my forte, but I know enough.

Apparently I did a "hands down" better job than the previous co-anchors and will likely be asked back multiple times.

Hah While it's a small business currently and volunteer work as of now, they plan to sell lots of advertising out this season. And they'd pay me 50 bucks a game as a regular.

I was willing to do this free and just for fun, but 50 dollars a game? Hell yea! haha

My family owns a small business. Could anybody point me in the direction of a non-biased coverage of what Obamacare is and how it will affect us?

This was posted 11 months ago on reddit, but it remains the best unbiased explanation of the PPACA I've ever seen.

If I had the power to do so, I would re-open the thread titled "Geographic Coincidence" from a year ago prior to the OU game. I was rolling. Many solid Picture posts and a Kevin Bacon reference.

That was a thing of beauty!

Although, how did this one escape scrutiny:

So, Bob Williams went to high school in Wilkes Barre, PA - Rocket Ismail went to high school in Wilkes Barre, PA - Rocket played for Lou Holtz at ND - Lou Holtz had a part in The Blind Side with Sondra Bullock - Sondra Bullock was in Loverboy with Kevin Bacon.

I don't remember either one of them in that flick. I remember Dempsey bangin' cougs to pay his college tuition, him almost bangin' his mom, his girlfriend finding out about him bangin' cougs, his girlfriend ultimately being alright with him bangin' cougs in the end, Mel from "Mel's Diner" trying to whip Dempsey's @ss, Dempsey minoring in Japanese, and a gay waiter at his parents' anniversary party offering up a "Frosty Beverage." But I don't remember Sandra Bullock or Kevin Bacon.

I'm pretty sure neither were in that movie.

Confused why this ended up in my thread, but that's truly a shame.
