The only thing about UCLA is they don't have a bad loss, as SVP says. They only have one "good" win, Wisconsin. But there three loses are Stanford, Oregon and ASU. Three pretty good teams.
USC has one bad loss, WSU. The got smacked by ASU, but at least ASU is pretty good. They have one good win, over Stanford.
USC plays UCLA next. Regardless of how we are ranked now we would pass them with a win at Stanford, and they will be ahead of us is we lose vs Stanford. Depending on how close the two game our we would probably pass one of them even with a lose-- not that it matters-- we would both be unranked.
Duke does have two good wins: VT and Miami. (Maybe a bit generous with VT, but they were 14th when the lost to Duke). There two loses are bad, GT and Pitt in back to back weeks, but they haven't lose since Pitt on September 21st. The sure beat Navy much more convincingly than we did. Overall there schedule is kind of week, but still somewhat respectable.
If we beat Stanford, we will pass the loser of the UCF/ Louisville game.
Wouldn't be surprised at all if OU loses to OSU (at OSU). We would pass them if the lose and we win.
A&M are frauds propped up by last years success and Johnny AssHole. They haven't beat anyone. No worry they WILL lose to Mizzu this week. Again, if we beat Stanford, we pass them.
If either NIU or Fresno St. lose we pass them (though unlikely).
That gives us the possibility to move up 8-ish spots easy if we beat Stanford. That probably won't help us get to the top 14, which is the only case the rankings really matter. We could finish the season in the top 15 with a Bowl win.
My point: The exact order of the team 18-25 don't really matter right now. If we were 18 maybe we could make a run at someone like Fresno/Wisco/LSU/ NIU without having to counting on them to lose. But honestly we had our chance. We had to beat Pitt to be in that position [beat Stanford for a BCS]. We didn't. We're still ranked, and a win over Stanford would be HUGE. It probably won't help our bowl situation [unless absolute mayhem happens], but would be a great way to end the season.
