Well now we know, Koon really had a throbbing in his pants for IP.

BTW........Maybe not all mods, but some have access to everything, including PM's. That how software is written.

Koon will probably go down to the library and create an account from one of the PC's there. With all the time he starts spending at the library, his girlfriend will probably think he's having an affair with the librarian.

He's actually a really helpful guy! a month ago I didn't have an opinion at all about the guy.. but after some more thought he's just another fan who thinks a bit too much at times.. like meself.

I don't think he's ever had a rep for not being helpful. The thing that always bugged me about him is that he acts like a girl. In fact, he acts so much like a girl that I think he might actually be one. He is WAY too into the "clique mentality", and just like a girl, he would stomp his feet and throw a tantrum when he didn't get what he wanted.

It's easier than you think.

I disagree. You typically have to make an effort to get yourself banned. Most mods are pretty level headed, and if you're not a repeat offender you typically get a warning or a short vacation. Been posting on web boards for over 15 years, dozens of sites, tens of thousands of posts, and I've yet to be banned on any of them. I can't say that I've actively ever TRIED to get banned, but I've certainly gotten hot headed a few times and probably could have earned a vacation if it wasn't such a rare occurrence.

Koon knew he would get in trouble for all this if his Irish Pat scheme unfolded. Koon was one of the biggest supporters of Pat, and he's brought up countless times that Pat should be freed, only to be told it wasn't going to happen. That should have been enough for any level-headed person that circumventing the rules would result in consequences if caught. If he blabbed about it to other posters, that's definitely on him.

Koon isn't without his merits, he certainly provides an opposing viewpoint on a variety of topics that helps drive discussion. I'll miss some of that in the coming months, but I won't miss the jokes that are repeated ad nauseam, nor the Greg Bryant references, nor the "know it all" attitude. It might be nice to spend the off season without all that.

After discussing, the IE staff has unanimously decided to ban MartyIrish and koonja.

The user posting under the name MartyIrish has been banned because this user was irishpat who had already been banned permanently. He will not be permitted to return.

Koonja has been banned for being the individual who assisted irishpat in circumventing the ban filtering in order to register. He will return, if he wishes, when the 2015 season kicks off.

IE is blocked at work, so I can only access from my phone if I have a minute. So I literally just found out about this. Let's just say a smile ran across my face and sang a quick "Oh happy day" lol.

But then I got a little sad bc I do enjoy the rantings of a dude who would admit he knew nothing about a topic, and then defend his uninformed (often clueless) take with the veracity of a sleazy lawyer defending his guilty client. Plus he will owe me fake money (which he'd probably find a way to welch on) when Ishaq won't be drafted in the 2nd round.

But then I smiled again bc the IE I enjoy will be back for awhile.

Also, to his friends, no doubt he was a good dude to you guys. He just wasn't my cup of coffee as a poster. To me he came off like a complete dick a lot of the time, especially when you went against his opinion (even when I had the truth from the lips of reporters who knew the exact truth of a situation) or when he felt like being a martyr for a certain cause/poster. But I'm not everyone's cup of coffee either, so it's all good.

I've been banned before myself...do the crime, do the time.
