Why does Notre Dame always have to take the blame for a deal the Big East agreed to? Why is it ND's fault that the Big East Presidents decided having them in the other sports, and having them agree to schedule to play their teams in football every year (ntm using them to get better bowl contracts) was enough?

It was annoying enough when it was just fans making a big deal out of this, but now there are actual Big East members (i.e. Jim Boeheim) making these idiotic and simple-minded comments.

I wonder which team pulls more spectators at UCONN a Football game or a women's basketball.

Funny how BC or Miami never made mention of ND when they left the BE for the ACC. They along with PITT and SYR left for $$$ and to expand their recruiting base not because of ND.

Hey now remember UCONN beat Notre Dame in South Bend on senior day guys. Leave UCONN sports programs out of this and focus on Auriemma. Thanks.

"If Notre Dame had come in as a football and basketball school when they came in, we wouldn't have a problem. Miami wouldn't have left. Virginia Tech wouldn't have left. Boston College wouldn't have left. We probably wouldn't have any of these issues, would we?" Auriemma said.

Why? Because ND would have made the BE's football TV contract worth more, ND would have brought more bowl money into the conference, and ND merchandise sales would have bolstered the conference's coffers. In other words, ND would be the Texas of the Big East... bringing in beaucoup money that would have to be shared with everyone in the conference.

Yeah, ND is a bunch of pr*cks for not putting themselves in that situation.

You cant be mad when you are in a "open" relationship and your girl (which is way out of your league by the way) bangs other dudes.

oh, wait a minute, isnt UCONN the school that is currently holding up the big east football rebuilding process because the wont pledge to the big east due to the fact they want in the ACC next?

I have two daughters.....

BUT

just because you have a daughter playing it doesn't mean its interesting to anyone other than the parents. Face it, womens basketball is as interesting as watching rust form.

PS. You are a dickbag, Geno.

Hey guys, try and layoff the negative comments about women's backetball. I've gotten a couple complaints from people not to mention the other posts complaining about them in this thread. Thanks!

I helped coach the women's team at WMU for about five years. They are athletes, very serious about their craft, highly competitive, and even occasionally gorgeous at the same time. Plus, remarks denigrating their sport denigrates our own superb ND team. Kindly be more gentlemanly even if you really are a neanderthal at heart.

I enjoy watching it because they actually play basketball. I mean that too. If you watch a guy basketball game 90% or more of the teams are one or two man teams. They would rather drive the lane and try a dunk over a layup. Or they just chuck up 3's. The women actually run plays and most of the time to perfection.

I have always been a supporter, on this board even, of women sports. People will talk bad about them all year but if they make a championship game everyone will then jump on board.

I could never stand Auriemma. He looks like a jerk.

I agree 100%, from what I have seen if his team isn't doing well or not getting recognition than something is wrong with the people making the judgements. Not his team, his teams are always "perfect".
