It was mid 100s last week and a Heat Index of over 110 at 6PM just last Thursday here in Austin. We are getting so lucky with this weather
This week is hot all over, then the temps are dropping like crazy everywhere on Saturday.

And if the game gets delayed, say for lighting, awesome.
Those fans will be drinking all day. And fired up at 0630.
Everyone here knows what happens when you drink all day, then it gets late.
If kickoff is at 830 instead of 630, those fans will crash by halftime. LOL

It's why I was concerned about the weather at first. The team is deep enough that they can rotate. A bunch of message board warriors drinking all day might pass out in a hot stadium of 100K+ people lol

A&M are largely good folks ... a little weird and cult-y, but affable.

I, honestly, like a little good natured ribbing as long as it's in good fun. A&M fans, however, really aren't like that. They're pleasant and they'll give you a "howdy" and all that shit...

The campus resembles a Russian Gulag. Remember, don't walk on the grass and don't wear your hat in the student union. Enjoy their marching band - easily one of the best, if not the best in my opinion. They've got some of the more unique traditions. Y'all will have a good time.

Go kick their ass. :clover:
Piggybacking off this - I graduated from A&M in 2014. Will be at the game in all Irish gear. Forkbeard's assessment is pretty spot on.

A&M fans take their traditions very seriously, and aren't particularly well humored about them. But if you're respectful about them, they'll be very friendly.

Whatever happens early Saturday, can't really overstate how great it is to have Denbrock as the OC and not Parker. Maybe it's because he's been here before but just feels like Denbrock is stepping in and won't miss a beat. Having two experienced coordinators really makes me feel our floor on this game is a sobering loss goes all the way into the final quarter.

Couldn't agree more.

Welcome to the board!

Really curious to see how Denbrock comes out with some inexperience along the OL. I feel much more confident in the offensive style and skill players along with RL to negate some of the struggles the young guys may have at the start. Very confident they settle in relatively quick. It’s nice to have a defense to lean on if things get dirty.

I will say the Denbrock offense seems way easier to overcome poor O line play than the Rees/Parker pro style. WR screens and misdirection will help a touch.

Agreed... but only if the good guys win 😉

Just take advantage of their over aggressiveness that they will be want to do to capitalize on what they perceive to be a physical advantage for them.

Then when they taper things back--run your offense with much less pressure. If they ramp up again, then exploit again.

Basic 2005 Tennessee game plan.

No reason for this game to be terribly close with an appropriately implemented game plan.

Wouldn't be the first football game ever played where an OC did such a thing and won't be the last.

But let's act like it's some insurmountable task to ever think we could move the ball because the other team has three good edge rushers.

O’Malley noted that Leonard was only 4-21 in passes that traveled 20 yds or longer in the air last year. That’s horrible.

In his 12 starts as a sophomore, he was 21-51 for 783 yds and a 10/2 TD/INT ratio. Much better.

It’s been widely reported now that Leonard wasn’t fully healthy last year & Duke played him anyway, even before his major injury. Then they even trotted him out there after it.
Leonard’s doctors at ND say his foot/ankle is better now than it was the past few years. The surgery he received actually makes the area stronger than before.
And people who see him thrice daily say he has more zip on his throws now than he ever did at Duke.

FWIW the Aggie that I got my tickets from said that I should expect the A&M fans to treat us well. I'm not anticipating ND levels of nice, but it'll certainly beat the experience I've had at MSU or (funnily enough) UVA.
It's a nice fanbase.

No you silly goose. I just said I had positive encounters at Knoxville & Oxford. I’m old enough to be your dad so I can assure you I’m not “that guy”. I’m good w/ a rabid fan base just do it with some modicum of class. No fanbase is 100% perfect but I can guarantee you you’re far less likely to have issues at South Bend vs most SEC schools.
well you cane across to me as an $&! because you were spouting negative things about something which you obviously and now admittedly know nithing about. you should use a little more discernment.

And I'm likely older than you, sir.

What makes you feel at all like Elko is a better defensive mind than Al Golden besides the fact that is now coaching your team? ........
Weird response- i never came close to comparing your DC to Elko . Frankly i inow nithing about your DC; not even his name.

I basically said that Elko (and a LOT of other factors i listed) gives us possibility of making up whatever large gap there might be between your DBs and ours.

You really should go back and read my post carefully- your characterization of it is rather bizarre.

It's okay, they don't know what a real good hangover cure would be down here on Sunday. Take comfort in that

I know. I’m referring to his recent presser at UA. Just going by what he said so forgive me if I mistakenly besmirched your kicker. I did hear Elko brought his ST coach from Duke so it should be fine.
no, besmirch away. i was just giving his stats. he's pretty reliable, but he's also prone to miss a critical 35-40 yarder that costs us a game.

No doubt Petrino is still scarred from that, as are all Aggies. We have a llong history of a great kicking game, but we are middling in our FGs now.

im not confident in our kicker bailing us out in a tight game. we'll see.

I had great experiences in Athens and Baton Rouge. Austin, not so much … That being said, I always hear A&M fans are notoriously nice and welcoming.
The fan bases of Texas vs Texas A&M are night and day. I hold degrees from both. The difference in personalities, beliefs, behavior, is striking.

it's as clear as blue vs red. A&M is a tight-knit family that some describe as a cult. We have a saying "from the outside, you cant understand it; from the inside you cant explain it." but treating people well is a priority.

Now, don't take our Yells like "Beat the Hell Outta Notre Dame!" personally- these are 100+ yr old traditions you'll see. very iconic and "weird" I'm sure! :)

(and you'll hear a high pitched "Whoooooooop" incessantly before and during the game. That is the highest, proudest praise an Aggie will utter to anything approved of!

also if you hear "good bull" thats a complement. Like if an Ag sees you sporting your Irish colors to the max,
he might tell you that's "good bull!". it does NOT mean "bull shit"

if you hear "red-ass" that means hard-core Aggie. ot someone doing something iutstanding in an Old School way. We LOVE "old school"!

Sorry- one more big one i should mention:

"Howdy!" is the traditional way Ags should welcome guests and each other. yeah, sounds corny but it's Tradition.

oh and do NOTmiss the Fightin ' Texas Aggie Band (FTAB) at halftime- truly one of the great unique things you will ever see in college football. take your bio break after:
