Miami doesn’t even have fans in real life. Their fanbase is like 300 dudes who have 10 burner accounts each. Just look at their stadium for any non-top ten matchup.
I was at the game yesterday in College Station it was pretty dope and for a small private school I was impressed by how many fans showed up

Ok guys. I get it. I flew off the handle a bit yesterday. I don't mind us being hated. I just don't like when we are mocked and made fun of. X was absolutely brutal yesterday.

Somebody said it best in the Championship thread yesterday, everything that could go wrong for Notre Dame these last 3 weeks has done so. Sorry if I rubbed some the wrong way.

.

From tv it looked like a lot of player's families.
lol there were more people than just the players families. I recognized a lot of people I went to school with it was a ton of fun.

Miami season ticket holders got 3,500 seats from A&M and there were a lot of other Miami fans who bought from A&M ticket holders.

The home games in the CFP have the fewest seats given to the away team so I expect we’ll still be in the minority in Dallas bc OSU travels really well, but there will be a lot more canes fans there

1) Didn’t come across as many U fans on TV
2) spare me with the “for a small private school” - ND does just fine filling stadiums.
3) you’re team filled your home stadium twice this year in a playoff year. The rest of the time less than half. It’s an embarrassment for a program of that level. It’s been this way for years.

OSU fans have already convinced themselves the Cotton Bowl is a win, so they’ll probably skip that and just buy tickets to the Fiesta Bowl and the title game.

That would be great if they look past us. We have a lot of future NFL guys on the O and D lines who will get up for that game

I hope Beck throws 3 INTs and Miami gets dogwalked but I think they have a real chance.

I went hammer time on OSU U27.5.

It's 26.5 now.

Miami is at 15.5. OSU has only given up more once this season - Illinois put up 16.

Which is kind of crazy because I'm still not really sure that OSU is that great. I actually think Miami can beat them. It would be ugly, but they can win ugly. OSU is kind of untested to me and the B1GCCG didn't do much to persuade me they're elite. Elite defense for sure, less sure about the offense.

I agree with you, I don't really know if OSU is good, really good or great. Pretty sure their defense is great and I just don't see Miami doing anything against it.

Winners get to talk. They beat the other team we lost to on the road.

And frankly, we look ridiculous now.

Na, that game was 4 months ago. ND was a much better team in November, while Miami's only argument to get into the playoff was "We beat Notre Dame." If Notre Dame is no longer a playoff team that also destroys their whole talking point. They deserved to get in, but so did we. They lost to two unranked teams, our two losses were to two playoff teams and by 4 combined points. We got jobbed by ESPN and the committee.

Stuff like this is why there needs to be more of an emphasis on computers and advanced metrics and rankings, rather than just deferring to humans who have no clue how to remove their biases and evaluate as complexity grows.

Evaluate and pick one team from these:

- Team A has some wins (one great) but two bad (unranked) losses.
- Team B has similar wins (though no great win) but two better losses (playoff teams).
- Oh, surprise, Team A’s great win was against Team B.
- Team A won the H2H against Team B, but now you’re kind of counting the above bullet twice.
- A ton of other hand wavy points (eg common opponents, margin of victory) can also be brought in.

Poll a bunch of non biased people and you’ll get people picking either team for a variety of reasons. Our brains simply can’t handle it well enough to make the right decisions with strong enough confidence.

How miami scores points in this game is through their DL IMO. Sorry Indiana, but Miami's dline is significantly better. I think Ohio state is better in every matchup except Miami DL vs Ohio State OL.

Miami DL would have to wreck the game and force some turnovers (very possible). I don't see Miami marching down the field and scoring much.

OSU will be facing the best OL and DL they've played this year. It's a 9.5 point spread because Carson Beck is awful.

Still can't believe we lost to him. With that said, we weren't ready to play, A&M was worse. Giving up 41 to that offense at home at night is on the entire Defensive staff/team/freeman. Coaching malpractice.

Watching OSU they can be moved on, but they elite third down packages and red zone defense. Sack adjusted they gave up the following:

337 yards to Texas, 280 yards to Washington, 321 yards to Illinois and 350 yards to Indiana.

Issue for Miami is they had 14 sacks in those games and 3 TDs in 12 RZ attempts.

Miami will be the best OL OSU has faced but nothing Beck showed Saturday really gives too much hope those two things can change, but it is possible (ex a one handed catch in the end-zone would help)

Beck will be better in a stadium without wind and rain. Unless he plays like he did against UL which I think he will

Notre Dames first time starting QB scored more on Miami than anyone all season. Miami needed 2 TO advantage (including an INT on the ND 28) to squeak out a 3 point win.

Same story with TAMU - scored more points than anyone on them. Our well documented problem was defense which made huge strides post Purdue (who scored 30) to finish as a Top 25 unit despite abysmal first 1/4th of the season.

Only thing proven to me at this point is TAMU, ND and Miami all deserved to be ranked higher than Oklahoma and Alabama. Those two teams looked like ass which doesn't surprise anyone who has been paying attention.

Seeded correctly:
7/10 TAMU/Bama
8/9 OU/Miami

TAMU and Miami both advance and it isn't close. Second round would be better for it.

Idk that it wouldn't be close.

Miami is very hit/miss in general. Ditto on A&M.

We should lock in a Clemson-esque scheduling deal with them. Would be a perfect replacement for SC.

I think Clemson is in decline. Feel like Dabo got lightning in a bottle a couple times with Watson and Lawrence types for elite play in key areas while keeping starters healthy so their weak two deep was not exposed. Not convinced they can compete long term with $$ above the table in NIL era.
