Wonder how many other guys ND can put on the hot seat or be the last straw off it. Would be nice to get Lincoln Riley canned. Maybe James Franklin in the CFP.
Eric Dickerson and Craig James. Can't forget Peyton Hillis with Jones/McFadden as well. Amazing backfield.
Does that reflect on the HC? If so MF is to blame tooWell recent results don’t show that it’d be a strength.
If ND played Miami right now a a neutral field, I'm confident ND wins.It is so ridiculous and I am hoping that once they both go pro, which they will, that this isn't a key factor in Carr's success. Outside of probably Miami, I don't think there is a team in the country that has any idea on how to play this offense. The second they start creeping bodies towards the line of scrimmage to better defend the run, they're getting torched by the pass game. I would like a rematch against Miami at some point because by then I do think our offensive line will be better equipped to handle their passing attack (better cohesion, no rain, no insane humidity, now trusting the QB).
Long term he probably belongs at tackle but watching Guerby Lambert pull or get to the second level and just demolish some linebacker is pretty fun.Postgame Thoughts:
2. Kudos to the O-line, they blocked for the RB's and Carr had time to pass the ball.
Go Irish!
Why do you say thatChris Ash is a motherf^$?ing gangster!!!!!!
It's a throw back to the VanGorder days. Someone posted that VanGorder is a "motherf'ing gangster" after the Michigan game. We all know how that turned outWhy do you say that
I get your concern. But come on we destroyed a solid Arkansas team. And lost two top 10 by a total of 4 points.Show me a sports book where I can place the bet on 10-2 ND getting in and I will.
I dont think anyone has said it is fixed. Certainly better than it was against AM and first half of Purdue.Glad somebody said it
Glad somebody said it
This is what my eyes saw tooThey definitely had drops. I believe everyone including myself joked about it in the game thread in the moment. But Goolsby tweet is not accurate, for dramatic effect I assume.
First one was first play. ND brings 6. Gray is in stride but behind a drag route. Throw is high. This is the defense everyone wants! Pressure the QB. Cover in man close enough. QB will make a mistake.
The next I assume is the third down sideline overturn. Green throw was wide and WR didn’t catch it.
The second down “drop” I just don’t even know what he’s talking about. Nobody busted unless it was way away from the play. Green can’t find anyone open so he tries to loft a crosser over Shuler and it’s high and not caught. Not a drop or a bust.
Third down the RB completely dropped a swing pass. It wasn’t a bust though. Shuler had a long ways to travel in man and may not have made it in time to make the play. But he didn’t bust.
He’s also pushing the subscription for the Always Irish PatreonI don’t think anyone has said the defense is fixed. But they looked much improved. Just keep stacking good days.
Talk about loaded with talent!Reggie was a DB then, Tony was a RB. Dorsey Levens was back there too.
If you are going to hit us with a “Golsby” then you gotta finish it off with a “Tay Jawnsun” 💪🏽Golsby raises interesting points. Very complimentary of Tae Johnson but questions if he is in proper game shape so may improve just on that basis. He was puffing after the missed intercept.
That's a good Ole Miss team, perhaps their historical top. One score on the road isn't a disaster.I missed yall's game yesterday as I was dealing with the kids and watching the Ryder Cup. I did watch it though morning, though. A few postgame thoughts - not that you all care ...
- Brian Kelly sucks
- LSU sucks
- CJ Carr is truly the real deal. I know Arkansas's defense isn't anything special, but his talent level is off the charts. I'd take him over most quarterbacks out there.
- Love is a beast. He's so versatile...he is the closest player to Reggie Bush that I've seen in a while
- Price continues to dominate. His ability to bounce it outside for a huge gain is incredible. Once he gets the corner, teams can't stop him.
- Fields was a phenomenal pick up. He's a top WR. Faison played really well
- It was awesome to see Greathouse get back in there. He made a hell of a catch on the sideline.
- Y'all know I rave over Aneyas Williams. It was good to see him get in the endzone.
- That fake punt was executed flawlessly. Kinda wonder why they burned it, but I assume they have other things in the works.
- The defense, whatever they did over the week, worked very well. I believe I predicted something like 45-24 Notre Dame ... Notre Dame's defense really came to play. Whether that was Ash, Freeman, Mickens ... I don't know, but they need to be commended because I think Arkansas has a really good offense. If Notre Dame's defense is capable of playing to that level, consistently, they'll win out and rightfully get into the CFP.
- That's a big win. You guys did Sam Pittman dirty, though. That man didn't deserve that.
The Price of Love ?There are no words to describe the Love and Price combo.
That will get better within a few weeks when it cools down. If I remember it was hotter then shit this past weekend pretty much everywhere for a late September game. Not to mention the noon kickoff in the middle of the day meant it only kept getting hotterGolsby raises interesting points. Exactly. That first “drop” is exactly the defense we all want! They definitely had drops. I believe everyone including myself joked about it in the game thread in the moment. But Goolsby tweet is not accurate, for dramatic effect I assume.
