Hand picked? Lol. We have had many many many shootings in schools. If someone was pushing an agenda and wanted to put kids in front of the camera there’d have been plenty of chances. These kids organized themselves because they are sick of shootings in schools and what they said resonated very quickly in the public domain. If you have been following this on Twitter there are many many kids who are organizing because these kids decided to get up and speak out. There are only prominent because of what they are doing. It is organic. It really is. Do they speak for all kids ?? No. I never said that and would never claim that. What I said is there are ALOT of kids wand adults who have kids in schools where shootings occur who support these kids and what they are doing.

Actually, the NRA's lobbying money comes largely from the gun manufacturers, who happen to profit substantially from selling more guns and don't want to lose the lucrative market they have in the sale of assault weapons. As in all things political, follow the money. The trail leads directly through the NRA to the major gun manufacturers.

The NRA is beholden to the manufacturers, not so much to its members.

This is not what they're arguing. This would be analogous to the kids saying "deport or kill all those with mental-illness and/or histories of violence/sociopathy. Bull. These weapons have been available in our country for many years and only recently have we had school shootings. Criminals don't obey the laws and these psychos shooting up schools know the schools are "gun free zones."

People are the problem. If we want to have a conversation about how to keep weapons away from whackjobs and criminals, I'm all ears. The reason people support mental health care is to prevent anymore of these tragedies AND leave the responsible, law abiding gun owners alone.
