It's not hard to understand this shit. Privileged young men - black, brown, or white - in society protected by their elite group status (Ivy league university, big-time college football, etc.) figuring they can get away with it.
Is the fine line between consensual sex and unwelcome rape a tricky issue between intoxicated and high young men and women? Absolutely.
But what always highlights the privilege is the reaction by the organization / group which usually ends up in school timeouts and essays for the young men while young women's academic and personal lives are turned upside down and ruined and where they are meant to feel ashamed and ruiners of promising young men and careers.
The University Ombudsman-type roles are nothing more than corporate HR goons who toe the company line and use leverage to ensure the young women go away quietly or no degree for them. And the entire local police / campus security / DA system is oriented to dissuade the victims from going public and pressing charges, and they're very hesitant to document a rape (are you sure?).
And of course, in coordination and on cue, the Bari Weiss Free Press types and paid right-wing influencers are quick to condemn and blame the modern feminism movement as the cause of these all-too-common aggrievements.
I would hate to have a daughter on campus these days.
