I am. So what. You don’t like it you are free to not engage me. Totally free. Like free to do better elsewhere free. We also have a great function called the ignore function. It’s been great and works well. I suggest you give it a whirl and see how it works. We spent some good money upgrading the site with this wonderful feature.
Done. I'm out. Certainly not going to support someone such as yourself.

In addition to being a consistent spreader and distributor of fake news, IE also has an owner that frequently posts incoherent thoughts and sentences and is incapable of a discussion above the level of a 4 year old.

Well done though.

May want to rethink your business model and/or partners, @Whiskeyjack @IrishLax @Luckylucci @KPENN

Wait no don’t go…please try the ignore function. We spent a lot of money on it. At least give it a try. We need feedback.

Btw this is the politics forum and if you can’t handle it then it’s not the place for you. You have to check your big girl panties are on before coming in here. Most everyone i ok with that and has been for a long while. Moderating this forum is little to nil and we all accept that. If it’s too much for you then this isn’t the place for you. Stick with the football forums. Xoxo

Ok, I'll explain it to you. Here is why what Cack said is literally a nothingburger.

The target of the joke? You, and everyone that thinks about how evil drag shows are. There is nothing in his post that makes light of what actually happened or excuses the actions of the shooter. The joke runs separately from the actual issue of some deranged physco lighting up a school.

Why haven't you explained why you take issue with what Cack said, and then with what Drayer says? He is talking about media excuses/hoops/whatever fringe issue etc. If you're concerned about time/place, wouldn't this be an issue with you? Surely?

Just admit it, you don't like Cack's views so you feign outrage over a comment that has nothing to do with the event and then act like you are morally superior. When we have all seen the types of posts that immediate follow the daily shooting of some random petty criminal and the typical group will say shit like "Oh well, fuck around find out" "stupid prizes for stupid games", and where are you to pipe in and say "not the time or place" or is it because you don't actually care about ~time and place~ it's just you taking issue with the poster. Save us the holier than thou stuff.
All I did was point out that the media is wasting no time pushing their bizarre narrative, spin, and ideology.
This is inexcusable

I'm concerned that people like you don't understand why an emotional response instead of a calm, reasoned one is part of the problem. Nothing wrong with being upset about the shooting... we all are. The problem is that ranting, yelling, cursing, name-calling, and being overwrought is absolutely the worst way to find a good solution. All that usually produces is an emotional reaction that does more harm than good. It's what immature, emotional thinkers do. The adults get past the emotions of the moment and look for good answers, not emotional ones.
So, stay calm and do nothing. Just like every other time. Always works. Why not address the stats that Cack posted that wreck the “intelligent” observations made by the IE red hat brigade … you know, like an adult? And stop with the self-gratifying nonsense about your maturity and intellect. It is comically douchy.
Stop with the misguided emotionalism. This is why the problem doesn't get solved. People like you wring your hands and demand we do something about it, but what you demand will have little to no effect because it's a feel good measure, not something that deals with the actual underlying problem.

No reasonable person demands that all men get their penis cut off because a small percentage of penis owners commit rape. We understand that rape isn't a penis problem, it's a behavior problem. No reasonable person demands that we ban cars because a small percentage of car owners get drunk and kill or injure someone in a crash. We understand that drunk driving isn't a car issue, it's a substance abuse and behavior issue. Reasonable people who understand what's going on instead of just parroting what they've been told to be outraged about dont demand that we ban guns because a very small percentage of gun owners commit murder with them. We understand that murder isn't a gun problem, it's a behavior problem.

To lower the instance of rape or drunk driving accidents, we address the behavior of those committing such acts, because THAT'S where the problem lies. Do you really want to reduce gun violence? Really? Stop wringing your hands and making useless demands. Instead, address the actual reason: bad behavior and the causes of such behavior.
Guns are the underlying problem.

FTR the owners are Whiskeyjack, Lax, Beau, Lucky, IrishLion, myself and clashmore Mike.

We're an anarcho-syndicalist commune. We take it in turns to act as a sort of executive officer for the week but all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special bi-weekly meeting by a simple majority in the case of purely internal affairs but by a two-thirds majority in the case of more major--

Well you know how it goes. It’s my week this week. Xoxo

Not in this forum. Not on my watch. Though seriously people should use the ignore function. It’s awesome. Or don’t come in here. That works too. No need to take your football home.
I know your stance. I will continue to argue that being combative is largely a waste of time. I'm not sure what everyone's goal is in the politics forums. If your goal is to try to win someone over to your side, posting in a style that is less inflammatory is the best. I know we all get upset and probably say some things that we shouldn't. But I still have a goal of trying to be more measured.

Nobody here in here on the regular is going to be convinced of anything. I’d like to think so but I can count on one hand since 2012 the times I’ve seen two parties get their minds aligned.

Hell I’m literally the only person to actually provide sources for my statements today haha. How many minds have been changed. The same argument will be had next week when the next shooting occurs

So what is the goal of the politics threads then? Just to try to "own" the other side and beat our chests so we can feel good about "our side" for the next minute until we get "owned" by the other side moments later?

I don’t know. Haha. I just like to post tweets and see where everyone lands. I like the sparring actually. I dont take anyone too seriously and Try to not get too personal but there are topics that do and at that point I try to realize it’s just a forum and that for the most part I could have a beer with most everyone on the site except drayer. He and I are totally incompatible. :)

Well, you've confirmed what I've already thought then. You post a ton of shit off your twitter feed for no other reason than to just to stir crap up.

I’m not the only one who does this 😂 and I’m certainly not trying to change hearts and minds. I have good respectful sparring with numerous people here. It’s all in good fun.

Want to end this shit by the summer?

It's simple and doesn't require turning our schools into prisons or having an Amendment removed.

There are millions of veterans in this country, some are disabled and depending on the disability they won't be able to.

Put 4 trained vets in every school on the local government pay roll.

They will be able to harden the school, set up proper cover and concealment locations, monitor cameras.

Oh and Cack this happened yesterday as well.

Now they are saying the one teacher passed away of a heart attack while in the hospital.

Seems like at the current time the others have survived.

Awesome that they survived. Very sad about the heart attack. You can kill far less people on a short amount of time with knives than with a high capacity gun.

Ever looked up the Chinese school stabbings?

Nanping School massacre a guy got 9 elementary school kids.

Another one a guy killed 9 and injured 11 with a cleaver.

Seeing shit like that in countries that have heavy gun restrictions is why I know that gun control isn't the magical answer that a lot of people think it would be.

All it will do is change the tools.

There is no magical answer. School shootings are a uniquely USA problem and it will require a uniquely USA solution one which will have to be multipronhed and in inclide gun restrictions and more mental health treatments among a host of other changes. No one says it will be easy. No one is willing to change. As with anything if you can’t change a pattern of behavior you are doomed to keep repeating it. It’s the same in history as in psychology.

Exactly. Homemade explosives, fire, blades, there's all kinds of other tools these people can and will use. The weapons change, but the venues stay the same. The solution has to be at the school level.

I'm more than happy with the idea of putting a group of military veterans into schools.

Hell at least then I know my tax dollars are going to teach and protect my kids.

Red flag laws can be easily abused. Nothing stopping a pissed of ex from saying shit, but making it so a medical professional can report something without violating HIPPA could be worked out by people far smarter than me.

Gun restrictions I'm not cool with, but then I'd daily drive an Abrams if I could afford it.

Now there is something in the background check process that someone who has been involuntarily committed can't purchase, but obviously that's only for something that's on the court records. Could be worked out maybe that someone who has been voluntarily committed wouldn't be able to purchase similiar to how someone in prison loses the right to vote while they are locked up. It would just have to be worked out on how to restore their rights down the line.

That’s thinking out of the box!

Dakota agree, its easier to register to vote in Indiana than it is to buy a gun.

In NM I didn’t even need ID to register or vote. The lady said “we will take your word for it” and sounded like she was wanting to tell me without telling me what she thinks of voter ID.

I am disappointed that Reuters (or any new organization) would post such misleading garbage!

Is it "factually" correct? Probably but obvious to me, is the intent of this headline. Pure garbage!

In the comments, I found this gem... "Former German artist kills 11 million people".

Reuters should be absolutely ashamed of their "slant" narrative.

Cheers and Go Irish!!

Thats an out of context clip. Watch the whole thing. Dudes talking about evil people doing evil things, goes on to mention how it's very difficult to stop people set on killing you when the killer doesn't care if they live or die.

Doing Rupar-esque edits on this sorta stuff is absurd
