I have no idea how many posts per page you are on but go back and look who I was responding do when I made the Golson comment. Read that entire back and forth between kmoose and I. I just didn't bring up 4 and 5 star guys a post ago. That was the entire context of that discussion with kmoose.

It's really not hard to follow.

You're unbelievable. I literally quote you contradicting yourself and you chop those parts out and don't respond to them. Instead, you build up straw men so that you can tear them down and "make a point." Then you close each post by trying to suggest that I'm too stupid to comprehend what you're saying.

You're doing it wrong and still missing the point.

Will they start over him even if they sign? Likely no because Golson was an EE and will have had 2 full years in addition to that in the system.

Well thanks god playing time/experience in the system has no bearing on if a person is better suited for said system...

It'd be darn near impossible for a true frosh (even if they ARE a better fit than Golson) to beat him out.

He's also a true freshman. I never said I expected him to start from day 1. My point was that tools wise Golson is the best fit on the roster for a true spread offense. Could he bust? Sure. What you look for in a spread QB Golson has all those raw tools. Obviously he needs to learn and adjust to the college game..I never implied otherwise.

Way to NOT read again. Not only do I talk about tools in relation to the current roster but I also discuss playing time and the adjustment he will need to make for down the road!

Not opinion. Every recruiting service agrees and BK agrees. Look at who was recruited hard, and who started getting recruited halfway through the season after our top targets went elsewhere. It'd called paying attention.

Everything else you're quoting and bolding is just noise. You're still beating around the bush which is that you made a really ignorant statement about Golson being "perfect," then contradicted yourself multiple times in the post after that and are now swinging back to things we agree on and trying to make it seem like "see! I've been right all along!"

No one is buying it.

That one paragraph covers: Golson in relation to the current roster tools wise and ALSO covers Golson against future recruits with playing time being a factor. Hell I even point out Golson could bust.

Done. Gave him a week off, considering he hasn't been a problem in the past. I tried to give him a several chances, but he just couldn't control himself. Sorry I didn't get to it sooner...trying to get lesson plans done while also keeping up with the site. Thanks for the PM HTCI; you alerted me to the problem.

I even proposed to my wife by singing 'our song' in our school's talent show, stopping near the end of the song to go over to where she was sitting and popped the question. Thank God she said yes LOL...

The point being I find it hard to believe that in a year or so ND will land a 4* or 5* recruit who is better suited to Kelly's offense(like kmoose was saying) than Golson because Golson is just about as perfect a fit for the spread offense that you could ask for tools wise(which is what I responding to).

Just to be clear:

The quote above (ironically from a guy who was chastising others about their reading comprehension) does not accurately reflect the point that I was trying to make.

I don't think that Kelly is going to find a kid, in the next couple of years, who is better suited than Golson. My point was, when he signs the next 4 or 5 star QB, there will be some on this site who will proclaim him as being better than Golson, and a better option at starter than anyone else on our roster.

It's like Holtz said, the fans' favorite QB is the backup. Except some people on this site take it to the extreme, and think that every major recruit is going to step in and take the starting position away from the incumbent. How many receivers have we seen people on here proclaim as the next great thing? Walker, Goodman, Kamara.......... at least Kamara had a decent Freshman season, seeing the field fairly often. But alot of people on here only remembered the half dozen or so circus catches that he made, not the 3 or 4 drops he had, for each circus catch. People are falling in love with skills. Skills don't mean jack, if the rest of the package is not there. We know that Golson is a fast, elusive runner, with a very strong arm. We have no idea how tough he is, what his accuracy is like, or if he can even get the line into the right protection, after seeing the defensive alignment. If he can't do ALL of those things, Brian Kelly is NOT going to start him over someone whose skills might not be the same caliber, but are "good enough", and CAN do all of those things. It's called good coaching, and everyone seems to agree on one thing.......Brian Kelly is a good coach!
