FIFACamp... Seriously, tho. That's where I am. Also, I would never see one of these films opening night, I don't get it... Why subject yourself to that noise? Just wait a couple weeks and see it without the lines, crazies and packed ass theaters... I'll see it on a random early bird showing after the madness dies down. My expectations are pretty low right now, not gonna lie.

I saw one of the prequels at midnight and it was a cool experience. But not one I ever need to experience again. I'll be seeing it on a Monday or Tuesday night of the first week.

My expectations are crazy high after this trailer. The movie looks like it could be artistic/beautiful, action packed, and consistent with the originals all at the same time. That would be orgasmic.

Nothing is worse than having to wait in line for a seat for hours, being herded in like cattle, then getting stuck with a shitty seat next to a total stranger that won't stop talking... I'll never do the opening day movie thing ever again...

Gump was an amazing film.... And you have a stupid face.

It's cheesy, nostalgia-reliant, emotionally-manipulative americana with no real artistic depth. The fact that it won best picture over Pulp Fiction or Shawshank Redemption is heresy.

Also the Rock sucks.

To be fair, Forrest Gump is a garbage movie that just so happens to be quotable as all hell.

Gump is great. It's not the best movie of 1994 like some Academy clowns said, definitely behind Shawshank and Pulp Fiction, and probably even the Lion King and a few others, but it's a solid flick.

Big question.....for those of you with kids.... are you gonna see it first with your kid or are you gonna see it first by your self. There is a selfish part of me that feels I need to see it by myself..Seriously on the fence here.

This is probably the most accurate. It's just so damn average for a movie that gets the amount of praise that it does that I can't help but hate it. Like yeah, the first time you see it you're like "that was a cute movie, there were some clever jokes and it was fun seeing all the eras he lived through", then you realize that some people rank this as one of the best movies ever made and it's seen as this film classic and yeah... the hatred begins.

I say this as a joke, so please don't be offended. I say this both because some people are really protective of their kids and because some (smart) people really hate the prequels.

F*ck em. They probably think the prequels are good. Go by yourself, buy a large soda, buy a large popcorn, mix some Hot Tamales in that sumbitch and enjoy yourself.

Haha... it's a legitimate tough call. My kids are at the same age now that I was the first time I saw Episode IV. They did not like the prequels ( only saw them on DVD) except for getting to see how Vader got so bad and of course they loved jar jar and yoda. But I am in the fence about experiencing this with them for their first time. It's a critical juncture in their life and I don't want.to fuck it up.

Taking my 11 year old, will wait for the crowds to die down. I'd rather share the experience with him, like my dad did with me.

My son prefers the prequels, though, because the originals "they look like they're from the 80's"

Hey, kid, the 80's were cool. Not really.

You know what this means Cack... You have to burn it down. Burn it all down and start over.

My tickets to the premiere (7PM Oct.17) IMAX3D tickets have been purchased! That was a pain in the ass on AMC's website. Thought I might not get tickets to opening night and i wouldve been inconsolable.

Yuck thats the most offensive thing in this thread.

That trailer was perfect revealed just enough to maximize hype without spoiling the plot. You can't pass up the experience of seeing it opening night! It will definitely be rated PG13. Daisy Ridley looks gorgeous.

I'm struggling to avoid reddit and other potential spoilers. I promised myself I would watch or read nothing but trailers but it's getting difficult.

It really needs to be December.

Gotta take the kids, Cack. It is just the way of things. Go back the next day and see it again by yourself to get your Star Wars geek on, but the kids will remember years from now how cool it was to see it with dad.

Never watched a Star Wars movie. I'm 35 and I'll be taking my boys (5 and 14) to the one out in December. The 5 year old is a huge fan. I have no clue where he gets it from.

So, I can't remember if I have told this story before or not, but here it goes: When I was in sixth grade, one night I was getting ready for bed and my dad comes in and tells me to get dressed. When I asked him why, he told me because Return of the Jedi was opening at midnight that night and we were going. I freaked! It was so awesome! My mom asked if I was going to be too tired to go to school and my dad assured her there was no way I was going to miss going to school because he knew how geeked up I would be and that I wouldn't be able to wait to tell my friends that I saw the new Star Wars movie before any of them. This ended up being one of the top five memories of my childhood overall.

Your kids are going to have a blast with you seeing this movie. Probably more the 5 year old than the 14 year old, but it will be awesome for both. You should definitely at least get caught up on episodes 4, 5, and 6.

Stop being a pansy. I'm only watching trailers too.

My roommate is all about reading up on movies before hand, whereas I LIKE to be surprised and awed. Don't ruin it for yourself; December is closer than you realize.

I am doing the same thing. I am not having issues avoiding the spoiler sites, but I am having a big problem avoiding people talking about the spoilers.

I could be wrong but I think they've been pretty good about spoilers on Reddit. I browse r/starwars occasionally (wayyyy too nerdy to hang around a long time haha those cats are into it) and they have big banners up telling people to refrain from doing so.

I can't wait for this movie. I'm a huge Star Wars fan and I work at the theatre so hopefully I'll be able to secure some tickets. I recommend anyone who has never seen the movies watch them in the Machete Order. It goes New Hope, Empire, AOTC, RotS, and RotJ. It seems weird but that way captures the entire saga for me the best.

Why that order? Can you explain further?
