Same age as you. The song just sounds like high school to me, driving around town Friday and Saturday nights. The world was my oyster.

Nostalgia aside I just like The Killers. I grew up listening to all of those big “alt” and pop punk adjacent groups like Blink 182, Sublime, etc.

One day when discussing music we asked her what bands she was into and she told us that she “discovered” a band that “we had probably never heard of before.” It was Taking Back Sunday lmao.

It’s always fun to watch her deflate a little when she realizes the “cool band” she discovers was in heavy rotation in my playlist when I was her age.
