Ponderosa is an enigma. I thought they were all gone but every now and then I'll see one off a highway near some hick town.

We have had a poderosa gift card for 5 years and every time we spot one of these unicorns we never have it on us.

Sounds a lot like Bill Parcells who never had trouble finding employment.

Regardless, I can't think of an instance where a coach turned down pro offers to coach in college in the last half century. Somebody has to be first but Harbaugh and Michigan don't fit my imaginary profile. He already turned them down once.

True, but Harbaugh is nuttier than squirrel turds. Nothing would surprise me.

Yeah, every Ponderosa location I used to know has been shut down, and typically when I do see a sign for one that restaurant is shut down too. It's been ages since I've been to one that's open.

To a lesser extent, lot's of Denny's restaurants have been that way in recent years too. There used to be several in south-west Ohio about 10 years ago, but now the only one that I still know of is the one by the University of Dayton. If it weren't for the college kids and the homosexuals that place probably would have closed too. /nohomophobe

Is Liza Minnelli a minority owner in Denny's or is it something else I'm not aware of?

I don't know, but I can tell you that the only remaining Denny's in the Dayton area is often inhabited by college students and homosexuals, at least in the evening and late at night. I don't have a problem with them, actually they're quite entertaining. I haven't been back in some time though...the last time I went with the Mrs. some college kid didn't make it to the bathroom in time and he puked on her shoes on Halloween night. I thought it was funny, she didn't.

I see some parallels between Harbaugh and Saban. Successful at college, but ultimately ill-suited for the NFL because of temperament: control freaks who need the huge leverage they have over college students. Yes, I realize Harbaugh's been more successful at SF than Saban at Miami, but I still think it's a valid comparison.

Yeah, not seeing that as a valid comparison. At all.

I agree he wins. Most teams Larry Brown took over sucked before he got there. My point is only that the speculation on the 49'ers is they are growing tired of him and when that happens performance starts to drop off. Time will tell.
