Yeah I was just thinking after reading that Michigan insiders post that I'd much rather see MSU on the schedule this year than Michigan.

I'd even take Purdue over scUM. I think we have the SOS, even without USC hypothetically, to sustain a shot at the CFP without adding the likes of scUM.

Seems like a lot of people are high on Pitt and L'ville rising to contender level in the ACC this year, who could also give us a bump. We don't need the skunkbears.

Why does every ND fan sound like they're 150 years old when they're talking about the Michigan rivalry? Yes, some guy was racist to us in 1909. Yes, we weren't playing them in 1920. Who tf cares?

From a decade before I was born, to when I was a kid, to when I watched and attended all four years of college, to when I danced the chicken dance at their cowardly asses, Michigan was our major rival, second only to USC. But I guess they're not our real rival, like, you know, Northwestern. lmao, come on.

IMO rivalries are built on not only close and hard fought games but also between teams and schools who also have a tradition of respect for each other. John McKay said about the ND-USC rivalry:
“Notre Dame has always lent a lot of dignity and tradition to college football. The enthusiasm of their student body is tremendous, their fight song is inspiring and I get goose bumps when I go back to South Bend and see the leaves falling and the golden dome shining in the sunlight…

It amuses me that coaches say they like to play Notre Dame, but when it’s time to schedule them, few teams stand in line… In 1971 before the game in South Bend, I told my players ‘We’re back here together in the greatest hotbed of football, Notre Dame, and this is the game that typifies college football."
Bo Schembechler said that if he were Athletic Director he wouldn't schedule Notre Dame "if they got down on their hands and knees and begged... To hell with Notre Dame."

In a 2014 article in Maize and Brew (SBNation), Best Quotes by a Michigan Man, #5 (out of ten) is "To Hell with Notre Dame" editorizing "Many have said something similar, but he was the first to express it so eloquently."

To hell with Michigan.

When they first rescheduled Michigan in 1978, Father Joyce was more kind.

"We'd been butting our heads up against a wall. We didn't have any hard feelings. I always felt it was a personal thing between Crisler and Leahy, but we're not going to hold it against the institution...It was such a natural to play Michigan, and we like to play the best. That's been our policy."

With the 2020 non-conference schedule, Michigan's future schedules from 2021-23 includes eight home games.. Opponents are W.Mich, Wash, N.Ill, Colo St, Hawaii, UConn, E. Carolina and Bowling Green. One more (home) game to schedule in 2023.

So, a UM girl walks into a bank carrying a large bucket of coins and tells the bank teller that she wants to cash it all in. The teller dumps all the coins into the machine and the total amount is $617.39. The teller says to the Michigan girl, "My goodness, that's a lot of money in coins! Did you hoard that all by yourself?"

The Michigan girl replies, "Naw, my roommate whored 'bout half of it."

I've heard a lot of Michigan jokes over the years, like the overused "How do you get a Michigan grad off your doorstep? Pay for the pizza." This one is fresh though!

Or, What's the first question a Michigan grad asks in their new position. "You want fries with that?"

What's really pathetic is the UConn game satisfies the Big Ten's rules requiring they play a P5 team ooc.

Liberty, UMass or NM State (Independents) to fill in their P5 slot for 2023?

Season ticket holders must love those non-conference games lineup.

Why/how does that satisfy the rule of playing a P5 team when UCONN is in the AAC?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

When the rule was made, some Big Ten teams had already scheduled UConn and Cincinnati when they were still in the Big East, so they were grandfathered in.

Likewise, independents who have won national championships (ND, BYU, Army) are also considered a Power Five team for Big Ten purposes. But then teams realized, "excuuuuse me, at the time we scheduled Navy, they were also an independent who had once won a natty." So now they also consider Navy P5.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/spor...-knew-doctors-abuse-years-new-lawsuit-claims/

Forty-seven of the 53 victims in this latest complaint said they were digitally penetrated by Anderson. The complaint recounts the experiences of all the accusers, only five of whom attached their names to the lawsuit. One is a former cross-country runner named James Barahal, a Michigan student in the 1970s who sought treatment for a sore throat. The complaint alleges that Anderson "performed a digital rectal penetration and groped and fondled James Barahal’s genitals under the guise of ‘prostate and hernia examinations.’”

As much as I love hating on Michigan and their football program, I can't pretend to be happy about this or use this a feather in ND's cap. Unfortunately it appears there are monsters everywhere, and this goes way beyond a football rivalry and the nasty anti-Catholic ancient history we share.

I hope the victims get the closure and support they deserve, I hope those responsible are torn out of Michigan's history, and I hope nothing like this ever turns up at ND, because if it does we will never, ever, hear the end of it.

In the current lawsuit, it states that Schembechler knew. Reported to AD and when AD did nothing he did nothing else.

MGobloggers defending Bo saying he did what he was supposed to do. Meanwhile the ink is long dry on Paternos roasting.
