Small nitpick, he's actually rated 7th best by both composite and 247

According to the Composite Score, I still count 7 rated higher than Poggi: Jourdan Lewis, Patrick Kugler, Chris Fox, David Dawson, Shane Morris, Kyle Bosch, Dymonte Thomas.

I'd rather have Poggi than anyone else on that list, personally. But as Lax mentioned, no truly elite talent in this class that I can see (save them landing Green).

A guy on II is saying that Derrick Green is announcing today at 4 (B)eastern time. Has anybody else heard that?

Yes that is definitely happening. Everyone thinks he is going to pick Michigan. But he recently said something about "shocking the world" so maybe he pulls a Greenberry.

As many of us speculated, looks like Poggi's visit to 'Bama could be a big deal. Very well might flip.

Brady Hoke's "if you visit you lose your spot" crap is officially total BS. Dawson didn't lose his spot, neither is Poggi. What a load of hooey.

Poggi's father is the head coach at his school, Gilman. Last year Gilman sent Cyrus Jones to Bama, so a connection definitely exists.

Mike Bellotti (former Oregon coach) talked about it once on ESPN... said that it was darn near impossible to recruit against the SEC at Oregon. That you would have a player you thought was for sure coming and they'd go visit an SEC school and you'd lose them.

He said it was the "culture" and "excitement" of the fans/alums/boosters that really overwhelmed the kids... and that all of the programs down there are just so much more invested in football than the programs elsewhere in the country.

The truth is, it has more to do with the JUCO farm system and oversigning than anything else. Teams all over the country have holes because of the recruiting game and scholarship limits... SEC teams don't.

I think your points are valid, but the bold above is huge. With the exception of a few schools outside of the South East, the SEC is just on a different level of "investment". Financially, fans, admissions working in tandem with athletics, facilities, I can go on. I grew up Irish in IN, but went to IU. I went to most Big10 venues. Now down South, I've been to many SEC venues. Simply no comparison top to bottom. SEC FB is like Big10 basketball. It's all that matters to them. Everything else be damned.

yeah Michigan fan on another site says its not him.

I am virtually certain that it is him. I used to live down near Gilman and so I still somewhat follow the team, and I have followed this Twitter handle for a few months now. He hardly ever tweets, but if you look at his followers some of them are former Gilman football players, a former Gilman assistant, and one of them is his son (unless they're imposters as well?).

It's about a year old, only has tweeted about Gilman and the tweet I posted was retweeted by many writers and blogs. They don't do that normally unless they know

And @GilmanFootball is also following. Consider their entire program fooled if it's not him.

He also tweeted this 14 days ago: "The game has changed. Recruiting is a continuous process. It must be a process #sec."

Gilman alum Victor Abiamiri follows him along with Henry Poggi himself. Sure looks real.

Gilman lacrosse > Gilman football #justsayin'

True, but Gilman football sure doesn't suck. My first intro. to Gilman was when Ambrose Wooden was their QB, followed by Ryan Boyle. Boyle is still playing pro lacrosse, isn't he?

@BFeldmanCBS: RT @TennesseeBeat 5-star RB Derrick Green selects Michigan over Tennessee and Auburn.

Had he selected AU, it would have been nice a couple of ways.

If you scroll over a tweet at the bottom all the way to the right there is a 'more' option, and you click on 'embed tweet', and then simply copy and paste the code here.
