Condolences to Bishop and Tommy. Never expected them to get run over by the same bus that hit us in Texas.

Thanks, Whiskey. Tough loss, but nobody is unbeatable. We just got totally out prepared, out schemed, out coached, and out executed. I think the incessant turnover in our coaching staff, Lupoi's inexperience as a DC, and Locksley's distractions per his new job caught up with us. We just didn't have any answers to what Clemson was doing on either side of the ball, we made too many mistakes, and we couldn't find the right adjustments to make. We've been doing this to just about everyone else for a dozen years. Somebody was finally able to do it to us. Saban's a master at learning from mistakes, adapting, and fixing the weaknesses. It'll be a learning experience and we'll grow from it and be back next year.

Seeing quite a few Bama fans sighting fatigue. LOL. I didn't realize that a month break in the middle wasn't enough recovery time.

They also failed to mention that they played Mercer the week before Auburn.

Gotta love the late season SEC bye week.

I just read on a Bama board they are hearing Najee Harris is on the transfer portal. Reading through the thread he has thought about transferring for sometime and was unhappy with his carries in 2018.

He would be handy at ND did we offer him out of high school?

Looks like it was tweeted from a fake Bruce Feldman account.

^^yeah i doubt he transfers. He had some good carries against Clemson. I think Damien Harris is done with school so it would be Harris/Jacobs in the backfield. That will be lethal.

it is pretty rare to see the #1 rated RB out of HS be a backup at the college level.

It’s being reported that Jacobs is leaving for the NFL too, albeit nothing official yet.

We can call this "The Curse of Lane Kiffin"

Saban dumped Kiffin pre-playoffs because of how he handled his job search, right?

IIRC it was between the semi-final and final that Kifie got dumped? Can't remember for certain.

Rumors of Najee transferring to get more carries don't make sense. Damien Harris is finished and Josh Jacobs is turning pro. Najee will be the clear #1 guy next year. That the rumor came from a fake twitter account makes more sense.

He & Hurts were pretty close at Bama based on reports I’ve read. Odds are trending towards Jalen headed to South Beach but he is also reportedly going to Maryland basketball game tonight as he checks out that school w/ his other Bama OC...Locksley.

Eliminating the scheduling of FCS games would financially hurt the those FCS teams. In 2013 Florida paid Georgia Southern $550k to visit the swamp. GSU not only got paid, but got a recruiting bonus by pulling the upset.

I think restrictions such as the scheduling of one per season and the FCS opponent must come from the same state or within an x mile radius.

The thing is that you could make a case for FBS G5 programs that need the money just as bad. NIU had to schedule 4 money games this year b/c the state of Illinois is busted and some of that money was needed for the actual university...not just the football program. Bottom line is that not every institution is entitled to a football program. They are extremely expensive and shouldn’t have to be subsidized by other schools.

I do like the idea of paying FCS schools to be Spring Game opponents for FBS schools as a scrimmage game. Then let all the FBS schools use fellow FBS schools for their OOC. At least then you have two programs who began the season w/ 85 scholarship athletes going head-to-head...in some cases mid-November.

Cornerback Saivion Smith has decided to enter the NFL draft. First-team All-American safety Deionte Thompson is expected to enter the NFL draft. LB Mack Wilson is still deciding whether to turn pro or return for another year.

Smith isn't a huge loss, but Thompson will be tough to replace. I think Wilson could improve his draft stock a lot by returning.

Enjoy Chip Long as one of your 48 analysts or TE coach or whatever TF BS position Saban offers him, too...

Not sure what you mean by BS position. What's the problem with having coaches as analysts on your staff? Despite earlier reports, it looks like Long is staying at ND and ESPN may have jumped the gun in reporting that Sarkisian had been hired as Bama's OC. It's being reported by AL.com that he's interviewed, but no hire has been announced.

With Hurts also leaving, if Tua does miss any time at all due to injury...things could get interesting at Bama next year

They have 3rd year QB in Mac Jones and two highly recruited first years in Baby Tagovailoa and Paul Tyson. I think they’re fine.

Put me in the column of not understanding why a guy known for recruiting got a job that does not involve recruiting
