Anyways, the Red Sox obviously didn't deserve to there, so congrats to the Rays. It is infuriating thinking about all the crazy things that had to happen to get here, but the Sox had a million chances to control their own destiny.

Think of it like this: remember how you felt during the first half of South Florida? That is how this entire last month has felt.

Tonight is beyond anything I have ever experienced before. It doesn't mean as much, because the Sox weren't going to win the World Series anyway, but in terms of the utter ridiculousness of it, I've definitely never seen anything like it.

Still not sure how the Red Sox became the team everyone hates, but I'm used to that, I guess. I'm a Notre Dame fan.

That's what happens when you win a World Series every hundred years or so. Fans don't like teams with a rich history of success.

Being from Philly I envy Boston because over the past 10 years they have 7 championships in the 4 major sports. 7 ... Ridiculous

All trash talking aside though, this was one hell of a night of baseball. 161 games and it all comes down to one night? Extra innings and walkoffs? Pure awesome.

Joe Maddon= manager of the year!

I said it before, in recent memory, is there a manager who has done more with less?

Tonight marks the first (and perhaps last) night I regret having not watched baseball.

I have never experienced a better sports moment live than when I saw not only Johnson's game tying home run, but Longoria's walk-off in the 12th. Best night of my life probably. Couldn't have happened to a better group of guys, and the manager of the year in the AL, Joe Maddon!

man that was a great night to watch baseball. Besides the braves blowing the season it was a great night for baseball.

that was history with two teams blowing a 9 and 8.5 games leads in the last month of the season. Hate that the yanks have to open up with the tigers but it should be a great series. the other series i think think will be good are the cards and the phills. the cards are really hot and the phills have the pitching. Should be some good playoffs baseball.

Why I hate Bahhhston

Well when you win two World Series after 86 years of mediocrity and choking, you think you are the best thing to ever happen to baseball. You think you can buy a pennant, HA! $140 million payroll<$40 million payroll, Boston has no heart, they're out there for all the money they're making (you can keep CC ) We have Desmond Jennings!

the real reason why most people hate the sox's is because of espn has hyped them so much.I know the yanks get hyped but not as much as the red sox's. I am happy for the rays fans and that was one hell of a game last night.

I understand the Boston hatred, and today is a day where Sox fans dislike this team almost as much as everybody else. It was truly hard to keep pushing for the Sox to pull off the win last night after watching the Rays come back - Tampa is an inspired team, led by an incredible manager. This Red Sox team lacked any inspiration at all.
That said, it still hurts like hell this morning. If you can think back to what we all felt like after Michigan, you might have it in your heart to lay off Sox fans today. We're struggling.

...Who am I kidding? We're going to take s h i t for the next 6 months...

Not looking forward to the potential of Verlander 2x in a five game set. Not even a little. However, I have no problem with the following: Game 2 Doug Fister, Game 3 Max Scherzer, Game 4 Rick Porcello.

Idk. Look at Fister's numbers since he was traded. He has been lights out.

he has been really good since he got traded. I just hope the yanks pitching will hold up and give the offence a chance to get them ahead.

Has any heard how montero is doing after being hit in the hand last night. I hope he is ok because that kid can really hit.

100% agree that his numbers since the trade have been outstanding. But his matchups in the 8 games post trade were pretty favorable. 3 vs Cleveland, 2 vs. KC, 1 vs. Oakland, Twinks, and TB.

I totally get why people would be annoyed by the overexposure of Red Sox and by ESPN's converage of them (although hearing that complaint from a Yankee fan is laughable). Like you said, I didn't particularly care for this Red Sox team by the end, either. I just didn't get what the fans did that had anything to do with it.

I never asked ESPN to overhype this team. Why take joy in the fans having their hearts ripped out, over the last month and then again last night? Doesn't seem right. I know pink hat fans can be annoying, but most of us are just normal people that like baseball.

I listed the pink hats as something that "grinds my gears" in the thread with the same name.

Die-hard Sox fans are usually pretty knowledeable and can be engaged in a decent debate.

I was going to address your question pertaining to the amount of Boston hate, but I don't feel the need now. I'm a die-hard Yankees fan...that's all the reasoning I need.

if u read the next line in my post i said that the yankees get hyped to as well. what is laughable is some red sox crying about it and then at the same time in 04 when yall beat us from 3-0 they would run that mouth. not all the red sox fans are bad and there is some knowledable fans. Just like there are bad yankees fan and fans of any team. As you know a bad few gives everybody a bad name.
