I heard he got his girlfriend pregnant. No idea if it's true just something I heard.
Seriously??? That's just idiotic. I'm pissed as hell at the kid but that's just irresponsible.

I still truly don't know what to think about this whole situation. I haven't given any type of opinion on this because there's so much we don't know-- on both sides. I guess I'm finally commenting because:
1) Several posters on this thread and a couple others have either claimed they were going to let us know more of the "inside scoop" and/or hint that they have an "inside scoop." To which I say in my best Judge Smails voice, "Well...we're waiting." And as we know, the whole "I know something but I can't tell it" BS never floats around here anyway.
2) Like I said, I don't really know what to think about Lynch leaving. He's a tremendously talented kid for sure...and it sucks d!cks anytime you lose a tremendously talented player. Anybody who says otherwise is probably drunk or out of touch with reality. But sometimes there is definitely truth in the whole "addition by subtraction" thing. So there's that. But I'll also say that in college football, I think it's absolutely true (unlike the NFL) that restrictions on practice time and the intelligence (or lack thereof) of players means talent and playmakers matter a whole helluva lot more than many want to admit. It isn't as much about scheme, knowing the playbook, and mental aptitude in college as it is about finding the players and athletes to put on the field that can make plays regardless of how intelligent they are. I point to the SEC, Oregon, Texas, Miami, Florida St., Oklahoma, and whomever else you'd like to include from recent years [that places a premium on footbaw ability over mental ability (or capability) virtually 100 times out of 100, if given the choice in their program] that has done well in winning college football games. The programs listed above are full of Aaron Lynch-type of guys. Now I'm not saying that I think ND should become what those others are nor that I don't think ND can win big in today's college football landscape. I think many on here have oversimplified the whole Lynch leaving discussion or have been quick to jump to either extreme in their feelings about him leaving ND.
Bottom line-- I think there is a lot of gray matter here still when formulating an opinion about this issue.
Personally I am kind of glad this whole Aaron Lynch saga is over. I was one of his biggest fans and was really on cloud nine when we got him, then his freshman year was everything we had hoped for and the future looked really bright. The thing that I will not miss is all of the drama we have seen with this kid. One minute he loves Notre Dame one minute he doesnt kind of thing. Bottom line is I dont think his heart was ever really here in the first place. Its just sad that he wasnt happy here. I think one day he might regret leaving. Our program is much greater than one confused, indecisive kid and we will survive. I want kids that want to be at Notre Dame.
Who cares what it is, close this thread.
Ummm...No, it's not. Do you enjoy constant 8 win seasons capped off by crappy bowl games?
I don't want to just "survive". I want to win. You cannot win in today's college football without guys like Lynch.
Believe it or not, this is a huge blow to our team personel wise.
ummm... yes it is. Notre Dame was great before Aaron Lynch, it will be great after Aaron Lynch...
When was the last time ND was "great"......hell, I'll take consistantly good.
If we keep losing the few "Aaron Lynch-type guys" we WILL NOT compete in todya's college football landscape. But some of the posters on here are ok with that, as they're quick to just use the tired old "Well, I want guys that want to be at ND......" That's fine and all....but maybe some adjustments to how we do things so that Lynch-type guys will WANT TO BE HERE. Shep, Darby, Lynch....it's a pattern. There is a reason that we haven't won squat in decades. We build up these recruits, claiming that the experts are dumb and that we have the "diamond in the rough" guy ......but when we actually get a guy like Lynch, a bona-fide talent, he leaves the program. I don't care what any delusional ND homer says, WE NEED LYNCH GUYS. WE CANNOT WIN WITHOUT THEM. WE WILL NOT WIN ANOTHER TITLE WITHOUT THESE KINDS OF GUYS. You need proof? Check out the last, oh, 20 something years.
I'm tired of it. Frustration is at an all time high with me.
And save the damn academics/We do things differently argument. I've heard it all before and it's just the ND homers excuse that people outside of ND laugh at now. I used to use it, but I'm tired of making excuses.

WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY do fans like you exist???? Have you ever followed other schools? How many years was Alabama irrelevant, before coming back and winning titles? OSU? Any of the teams out there now, remember when it used to be a completely different top 10? I do. This is the ebb and flow of college football. ND is on the right track, they look a hell of a lot better in 2011 than they did when Ty and Charlie were here. In case you haven't noticed, or choose not to recall, we have many BEASTS on the D Line. I've met Louis Nix, he's HUGE, bigger than Lynch. And I don't know if you missed the games where Aaron let his temper get the better of him and cost us many personal fouls, or gave our opponents first downs that they capitalized on. Aaron Lynch IS good, but he's not the BEST. ND will survive without him. But do me a favor, when ND is back in the top 10 this season, PLEASE do not post on anything expressing any type of joy over it.

If you knew what Notre Dame is really about, you'd know, Notre Dame is great everyday! : )
"Contrary to published reports, Kelly did not block Lynch’s transfer to any other school — not that it was necessarily tested.
Some schools that were reported to be blocked didn’t request a release for Lynch. South Florida, the school most likely to be Lynch’s landing spot, did request permission to talk to Lynch and was not blocked."
From an Eric Hansen article. Feldman or whoever the one lone guy out there was with a "source" saying transfer destinations had been blocked appears to have been misinformed.

Believe me when I say that I am not happy with mediocre seasons and I am certainly not happy about losing Lynch or the others...., in fact Im pissed, but we need guys that want to be here...., I will agree that we need to figure out how to keep some of these guys on board, because losing guys like Lynch, Tee, Darby, Greenberry really sucks and it doesnt help our quest to return to glory. Losing Lynch was a huge blow, however I personally am tired of all the drama and am hoping our team will move forward in a positive manner.
Someone take this thread out back and shoot it, please.
He was their best DL, they will miss more than just on 3rd down.
