People knew it in Gainsville. He sprayed a car and critically injured at least one. Practice. That is what people could determine.
I had a serial-killer grow up a couple doors down from me. If the one I knew hadn't had such a pronounced Narcissistic component, he would never have gotten caught. The point is, I watched this kid go from setting fire and killing animals to practicing to take a human life. This kid was involved in a multi-million dollar law suit, and criminal investigation, and case where he was convicted and sentenced to federal time before he got to murder. What I learned is sometimes it takes a little more for one of these guys to hit stride than others.
At any rate, if there is introducible evidence of prior acts and they are out of state, it makes proof of motive much easier for the prosecution and federal charges are much more likely. There was a woman who kept killing her husbands in LA in the past twenty years, and though she was to smart to ever get convicted on state charges of murder, by the time the Feds got done with her, juries convicted her and judges sentenced her to over 435 years to be served consecutively, in a Federal hell-hole.

I don't mean to say what's best for your kids, because that's obviously not my place. But I think it's good for them to know that there are evil people in the world, and not all of those people fit the mold of the desperate criminal in a back alley.

Law enforcement sources told The Boston Globe that the investigation into the double homicide is related to and could help provide the motive for the murder he is presently charged with. The suggestion is that the victim knew that Hernandez was involved in the other murders.

I have to preface this by admitting that I have virtually no knowledge of Hernandez's background. Maybe he's just a sociopath who enjoyed all sorts of middle-class advantages growing up.
But assuming he comes from a culture of poverty, why are we surprised by this? Such people don't suddenly adopt bourgeois values when they become rich. This kind of thing happens every day in poor communities across the country, but we rarely hear about it because it's expected.
So why are we shocked when someone elevated from an impoverished culture turns out to be poor? Perhaps we're just not used to seeing it.

Bristol is right down the line from Hartford to New Haven/Bridgeport.....living in a small PA town..we see this just like big cities because they are just stops along the way...lower amount of police...easier for distrubution etc.
