Yeah I thought espn said they only expected it to be 5 minutes and his legal team already advised him to not comment.

He never looks or sounds thrilled when talking to the media, but you know he loves giving the media as little information as possible. He smiles inside when uttering the words "no comment" or "I can't comment on that". He was definitely more open than I thought he'd be though.

I know this is sarcasm but let's be honest, he never sounds thrilled to be anywhere. If he wasn't league mandated to do press conferences he would never do them. Which I can absolutely respect he knows what is important about his job and doesn't care about anything outside of that.

Then you have guys like Rex Ryan smh

The biggest difference between Bill when he was a young gun at Cleveland and now, and what I was looking for was his overall perspective. He spared no effort on emphasizing at the beginning and at multiple points within, how much more serious this was than a football (entertainment) issue. He started by showing respect to the victim(s) families. He set a number of reporters straight throughout. At the end, when the reporter asked Bill to clarify his no, and Bill smiled a little and just said no, that rocked. I really liked that!

Yeah, I actually think he was uncharacteristically open and forthcoming in his written statement. I thought that was impressive considering how resistant he typically is to that type of thing. I was referring more to the Q&A part. Tough spot to be in. I do think he normally does like tweaking the media, but this sounded like he was doing what he was told sitting there listening to question that you know he thinks are dumb, and he definitely chafes at that.

Bogs, I thought the same thing on the "no."

Judge delayed hearing until August 22nd.

This was asked by the prosecution and the defense actually asked for them to go today or have it dismissed. My heart dropped for a second until the judge quickly dismissed the notion.

You mean Stacey James' written statement? But, yeah, I agree with you. That presser probably ranks up there with the SB loss pressers as the toughest for Bill.

Something I'm interested in, but will never know unless Urban Meyer writes a tell-all book at the conclusion of his career (you know Bill won't), is how this situation effects his relationship with Meyer. He talked a lot about sources, good and bad, when gathering info and you have to wonder if Meyer was 100% honest in his character assessment of Hernandez to his good friend Bill or if he hid some of the off the field stuff like he did while coaching the Gators. It probably won't effect OSU players as long as Vrabel is on the staff, but I'd love to know if the Bill-Urban relationship has changed at all.

Yeah, I think the Krafts told him he was going to do this, and that Stacey James worked on the statement and signed off, but Bill wasn't going to say anything that he didn't want to say. I'm sure Stacey worded it or scrubbed it, but it still ultimately came from Bill.

I think you can read into it a little bit if the Pats take zero OSU players in the next couple of drafts. I'm sure Vrabel would normally help a kid on his team with the Pats, but if Bill is upset with Meyer or has lost trust in him, he isn't going to take one of his kids. Considering what we all know about what the culture is/has been at OSU recently, the Pats might just steer clear altogether for PR reasons (like how they didn't sign the kid that was kicked out of Duke).

Wrote a letter to an anonymous fan, looks to be in response to a letter he received.

Your letter meant a lot and was very true! I know everything happens for a reason and I know "GOD" has a plan for me and something good will come out of this. The world just makes things out of false accusations and it will all die down especially when they say NOT GUILTY and all the people who turned on me will feel like crap. I've always been a great person and known for having an amazing heart! I am a strong person and nothing will break me!

A C.O. will never not can they say now for one day have I been down in not with a smile on my face. I know there is a reason I'm going thru this and I will figure it out through my relationship with the Lord. I fell off especially after making all that money but when its all said and done "GOD" put me in the situation for a reason! I'm humbled by this ALREADY and this will change me forever. At least I'll know my true supporters. Thanks for being one of them!
