You can certainly see the speed in his film. He’s only 5’9” so I’d be interested to see how Denbrock uses him.

Is Mike Brown's job in actual jeopardy when it comes to the people who actually make those decisions?

Well, he clearly doesn’t recruit to Freeman’s standard and it’s on public record that he requires the most help from other staff members in recruiting. It also probably doesn’t help that Denbrock publicly criticized the WR group in a presser this spring.

So, yes, his job is in jeopardy this season?

Of all the assistant coaches, I think he is the least likely to be retained due to lack of production.

With that being said, big years from Fields and Greathouse would go a long way IMO.

Ehhh I think if he would have laid an egg in recruiting and the play on the field was once again lackluster, they would have been making a change next offseason. Based on recruiting alone, I believe he will be safe.

I do remember it being stated months ago that he was the least likely to be retained, as arrorryan said. Might have been the mercke thread or something.

This is big boy recruiting if ND lands Robinson and Finley, both TX stud wrs. Robinson is a burner who has been very productive at wr. Love the speed and production combo he brings. Kid is supposed to have super initial acceleration and top-end speed. Kid could end up being our consistent deep threat. It seems like we haven't had one since Fuller. Liking the optimism this kid will be Irish.
Agreed, seems the fastest guys with potential were 2 way players and we moved them all to defense. Robinson I like as he has operated from the field, boundary and slot positions with success at all spots.

I like Bubba more, but Brayden is a stud as well and has his big time offers for a reason.

Who’s the dude on here that had an absolute “FIRE FREEMAN” meltdown over the way the staff handled June recruiting last year?

As we’ve seen with on-field results, program management, staff management, etc. etc…

It appear MFMF doesn’t fuck around when it comes to turning mistakes and weaknesses into strengths.

We’re gonna win a fucking natty soon.

I've honestly had a suspicion that Bowen leaving was a good thing, not because Bowen is bad, but because he made getting a better recruiting class than USC an explicit competition, and Marcus doesn't really lose competitions.

I have to admit after NIU I was fully on board to get rid of him. Have never been so glad to have been so incredibly wrong.

James Franklin and Chad Bowden are proof that you don’t disrespect Freeman or turn against the family.

It’s just going to make him even more handsome, even more charismatic, and even more cutthroat behind the scenes.

Plz keep trying to defeat my coach. They don’t know they’re poking a now very-awake giant.

I absolutely had my “this might be too big for him” doubts. It really bummed me out, because going from BK as a man, to a genuinely SOLID human being like Freeman, only makes you want the dude to succeed even more

June ‘24 recruiting (or lack there of) and then the NIU loss had almost all of us in a tizzy. Let’s not go rehashing old fights.
