We are almost surely the most desperate of his top teams to sign a quality WR lmao. This is the time to shell out $$$. We also need to keep Deuce happy, who very easily could be looking for a better supporting cast if we whiff on our remaining 3 (really 2) targets.
Does Auburn or Ole Miss have better incoming WRs? Can Deuce not throw to kids in different classes?
I get this worry, but only to a point.

Deuce has said 100% Irish about 17 times but it really doesn't mean anything with teens these days.

There is really nothing this kids seems to have done to indicate he isn’t 100% Irish. But adults, who really should have better things to do, will keep questioning it. And in keeping with the world we live in, as he is signing and sending the sheet in, we will still have people who come and say how he won’t stick, or will transfer. I just think that some people have to talk themselves into the worst thoughts so they can either not be as disappointed if things don’t work out, or, the more likely, stand up and pound their chest, saying ‘see, I told you.’ After all, none of these internet and keyboard warriors have one ounce of skin in the game. People were calling out duece for congratulating Ivan, who I would assume is a friend of his. Imagine being so petty that when your friend makes a decision he feels is best for him, we should expect his 17 year old friends to disown him

Every school has its pluses/minuses

Whats a plus for ND won't be the same as for another school

Not saying its the case--but if ND promised/selling him on lacing him with an elite WR cohort and all they've delivered is the two Juniors?

Conversely, maybe he just really likes the Ole Miss campus more or coach--and all things being equal from the WR room--it's enough to tip the scales over there

Doesn't seem like an unreasonable premise to me

I think anyone that thinks missing out on Meadows and Hines won't give McKnight some pause--is whistling past the graveyard

Outside of maybe Black and Streibig--this is a super unappealing offensive class on paper for a QB recruit to see

Given our track record of recruiting elite WRs, if we sold Deuce on coming to Notre Dame so he’d have elite WRs to throw to, we’re a lot dumber than we look.
Like you said, every school has its pluses and minuses. That has never been one of ours.

I can never understand the preachy "get perspective" posts on a sports message board?

Like what are you trying to accomplish?

Gaining the moral high ground over a bunch of inadament complete strangers?

It sounds so douche

Plus, somebody already posted this same amazing, groundbreaking, sentiment just a few posts above

I mean it's all speculative of course

But I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that when they were doing their pitch to McKnight they were more likely to bring Meadows, etc into the mix than they were to qualify the whole recruitment with "Just so you know and are okay with it, we always only get ass 3-stars at WR here"

Maybe I will regain my interest in recruiting, but ever since I read the other day about reporters straight up being told to lie in their articles for clicks, I have had a hard time caring. Like how are you supposed to get excited about something if there is a good chance it isn't true anyway. Idk, seems like maybe I will get excited if someone commits, but other than that...

My uninformed take:

Meadows decided he wanted to go to ND... but figured he might as well use his leverage to maximize his return. He flirted with UGA and Bama, but in the end they offered what they were going to offer and weren't willing to play the game to increase his number. Enter our old friend BK...

I think he ends up at ND... partially for the reason that he just doesn't have the production to make the SEC powers chase after him.

Don't take it so personally. At the end of the day we still have to go home and mow the lawn.

I think no matter if he picks ND we're going to see a few new offers out after the first few weeks of the season to guys possibly already committed elsewhere

If I paid for information, it would've stopped hearing that.

No time like the present. Not even reaching our minimum required numbers at this point

Or I guess it's ho-hum no biggie--we can just "grab some guys in the portal"

I made a joke with him yesterday about that. (Robinsons)
He told posters to not take it out of context and that he'd be doing one for Meadows too.

I responded with "so you're saying ND is getting Robinson and Meadows"?

"Sure, why not :)"

The smiley kiss of death from Tim (clearly he is not giving the wink wink)
