Nice pick up. He has time to sit back and learn. DM is a dude that can coach him up.

Give me a number like 4.12 or I don’t have much use for them.

"2025 Notre Dame running back commit Nolan James‍ led DePaul Catholic (N.J.) to a State Championship over this weekend. DePaul Catholic beat Pope John 33-21 as James ran for 244 yards and two touchdowns to cap off his prep career".

Basically single handily won his team the state championship two weeks ago.

Thanks for sharing! I'm not sure I've ever seen someone run so hard. What a monster!

This kid is criminally under-rated. The On3 & 247 composites have him at 510 and 648, respectively. 5.6 on Rivals. Complete joke.

247 is the only one to get it right IMO: 223 overall, #14 RB.

I don't really like the comparison to Kyren. IMO, Kyren was much more elusive and had a strong jump cut. I just don't see that with Nolan. Someone threw out Darius Walker earlier, I think that's probably a better comp.

I think he’s going to be very productive for us, just doesn’t have the JLove / Jadarian home run speed. That being said, Kyren didn’t either and it didn’t matter.

Watching the NFL these days, it seems like the dudes hitting home runs don't even have the usual elite speed. It's really about scheme and situation more than anything. Kyren was the poster child for that at ND. The run against UNC comes to mind.

And I honestly don't know if I would classify any of the top RB's in the league currently as elite speed guys, aside from Achane and Gibbs (and it's arguable if you consider them "top" guys right now). Saquon still has some juice. Chase Brown for the Bengals is VERY fast, but I wouldn't classify him as a household name yet. Derrick Henry has elite speed relative to his size, but that's a product of favorable numbers at the second level because of Lamar more than it's about Henry being a freak.

You watch Red Zone and you see a dude who very clearly hit top speed passing the linebackers and doesn't seem to have a third gear, then still somehow lumbers in for a 30+ yard score before the safeties can get there, it's generally because the QB checked out of a pass and the line and RB attacked an area with the right numbers.

The days of having Chris Johnson and telling him to run zone until he outruns everyone are gone... or maybe I'm just an idiot, and everyone is so freakish these days that EVERYONE looks similar in terms of breakaway speed because NFL bodies are more uniform in reaching peak physical performance than ever. Idk

I promise he's going to be a stud. Incredible competitor, my nephews wrestled with him in middle school and I have been keeping up with him ever since and been to several of his games at Bosco and Depaul. He runs EXTREMELY HARD.

There has never been a more perfect player comp than Nolan to the Arizona St back Skatteboo. That's exactly the type of back he is. 5'9 or 5'10 will max out at maybe 215lbs but runs with the power of a 250lbs fullback. Mike Hart from Michigan about 20 years ago is also a very appropriate player comp

Yes. Yes please.

Anybody who can replicate the Skatman has my full ringing endorsement. Forks up

I can't help but see similar running style to Kyren. I think I said the same thing about Aneyas.

Watching him develop under Landow is going to be so much fun. Just a little more explosiveness and he'll be very dangerous. He has really good vision, cutting ability and he runs to set up blocks. He also has good contact-balance.
