We continue to live on past mistakes.
I don't think this is the same though. Deuce wants to decide early and be settled into his decision prior to his Junior year. The past mistake I think you're referencing(Moore) went much later than that. IF Deuce decides against ND that early in the recruiting cycle then Freeman and company will have time to reboot.

Swing big in '25, '24 is set with a gem. Would getting a mid 4 star do a lot? They will be sitting behind Carr. At least Knight would push and give some competition.
the whole we dont need a badass after getting a badass mindset is how the 3* qb's have been our mainstay starters the last decade or so.
When the preceived badass flops or transfers, your non "gem" qb in the middle is suddenly asked to do a lot more than what you thought.

I'm all for going for 5 star QBs every year. My statement was more the risk of losing Knight isn't as bad because Carr is there and is only a year older, rather than some 3 start getting forced into playing.

He’s not leaving the south…my opinion.

Remember when his top 2 were Tennessee and ND & he wanted to make a decision this summer… then Tennessee backed off a little & Ole Miss came involved, so now he wants to wait and see them play (so not deciding soon).

From the update seems very level headed. Interesting seeing Freeman’s approach to his recruitment

I think qb is the one position that doesn't apply to. Fill roster holes with the portal

Mike Frank made a fair point. With a new QB and OC coach, it would me smart for any QB recruit to want to wait and see how the offense looks for at least a few games before committing.

In my humble opinion, we need a 6’5 gunslinging QB to beat Bama. Looking back, it’s the TL, Vince Young, Cam Newtons of the world that get the job done and will their teams over them. Last year TN beat Bama. The outrageous QB is the reason, typically. Is Deuce that? IDK, but his size is imposing.

I tend to agree. Though I guess his brother played at Indiana. Does he have family ties to our part of the world?

He liked it, his mom liked it, they both liked Freeman and Gino/Parker, they treated him like the president with his photo shoot and he wants to watch his finalists play some games this season.

It was every post-visit interview with a recruit ever.
And with this being said, how many people are in the process of getting their hopes up now only to be disappointed later and then project anger toward the coaching staff for not landing him.

These updates are all the same. It's a scam. Loy and these guys are nothing but swill merchants.

The bigger trait those qbs you mention have is their ability to run and make plays with their feet. That's always been sabans kryptonite

Good point. Didn’t Manziel beat him too? That said, those guys beat everyone bc of their running as you said. I think they had some big time arm talent too. Deuce might be the kind of kid that might end up like that given his height and upside. I’ll admit I’ve seen 0 tape so no clue if he can run at all.

Joe Burrough was the best of all of them.
He not only beat 3 Bama, 3 Clemson,
4 Georgia, 4 Oklahoma, 7 Florida, 9 Texas,
9 Auburn, etc…., he put up crazy numbers on everyone.

Elite Quarterback Deuce Knight Recaps “Special” Return To Notre Dame

"My mom liked it a lot,” he stated. "It was one of her favorite places that we have visited. She really liked Coach Freeman. He made a big impression on her.”

Deuce will be our '25 QB. I feeeeeeeel it.
I always laugh when they mention the moms reactions to MF. Like what must the mom think when she goes to meet the likes of Lane freakin' Kiffin then afterwards. Dude is a straight up sleazebag. Surely its a slamdunk for ND
