For the team that gave up 12 runs in the bottom of the 9th with two outs and no one on?!

I only kid as an IPFW baseball guy. Have plenty of friends that played at Tech!

Yeah, first round of the tourney as well…ouch. Must be one of the worst choke jobs ever. Think they were like 0-17 or something like that to start year too but won the conference tournament.

Baseball… goo no back to an old discussion on this thread, is moving towards full scholarships soon (I think next year) with 34 scholarships instead of the 11.7. They are reducing rosters from 40 to 34, but still. A welcomed moved for a sport that had to deal with handing out peanuts to D-1 talents.

And now, back to our excitement about him hopefully committing soon

Not to launch a tangent, but curious how tripling the number of scholarships for baseball and mens soccer will square with Title IX. Are they adding a bunch to the womens programs too?

I'd always thought that Title IX - not money or scholarship limits - was the reason why scholarships were so light in mens olympic sports, to balance out the 85 dedicated for football, and also in our case hockey. That was the story for why Notre Dame gave up its wrestling program long ago.

All (most) sports are seeing increases. Football is supposed to increase to 100. I’ve seen a chart out there about the new scholarship amounts, but can’t remember where.

Scholarships going up in all the sports, men and women. Footballs going up to 105. That might cause some title 9 problems somewhere.

B10 and SEC teams are going to get the most money so they will probably be even more dominant than they are now in the so called non revenue sports.
