Kids got some arms on him. He might be strong enough to contribute next year.

dudes getting close to the dreaded Tyson Ford/Brendon Vernon territory where they are gonna make him pile on bad weight to play 3T
I mean, on the other hand every single time this century that ND has been in postseason contention for the national title we’ve had a defensive tackle who was listed as an SDE on 247 as a recruit. Sometimes the guys can add the weight too!

Looking at that on3 tweet, what’s the difference between DL and Edge? Is edge like a stand up linebacker on the line (like a 3-4 edge linebacker) or is Burgess moving inside at ND?

Hope he doesn’t rise too fast. Don’t want any uncles getting involved.

I'm not great at projecting these guys.

Is he an SDE? DT? or a sort of hybrid depending on weight gain and development? From the AA-game reports, it sure sounds like he has the potential to be a JJB+ player, which would be huge for this defense.

OSU is an interesting team in that they have 2 power DE's instead of a quick twitch "vyper" type. Obviously they have had the Vyper types over the years as well and you would take a Bosa or Chase Young type if you had it... but JTT and Sawyer seem to be doing just fine.

Big edge, Javonte Jean-Baptiste player with possibly more athleticism/potential early in his career.

I loved JJB

My favorite transfer portal get that wasn't a QB. I just wish we had him more than a year. Was watching the Commanders game last night and saw him and Sheldon Day get some decent run as rotational players.

He projects as a big end right now from what the staff has stated. I personally think he is better suited for the outside than on the interior of the DL.

He's pretty maxed out physically. He's 240/245 but a very different looking 240/245 than Cole Mullins when he arrived on campus.

He seems like he would eventually settle around the 255/260 range and be that power-rushing End that we've had in the past like a Khalid Kareem or Foskey.
