Did you ever think you’d see the day four guys from Illinois and one guy from Indiana would be in the top 10 for big ends? What’s up SEC??? y’all ain’t so skrong anymore.

I like Burgess, but that update slots him in at the #37 NAT.

I don't seem that level of player on film. It could be a projection pick, but it's a little rich on the sauce for me right now.

Fair, but the exact same can be said about Marshall.

I suppose, but Marshall looked like the best DL in the Chicago area last season, regardless of class. His play was better than Scott & Lightfoot’s.

I think Rivals uses the NFL Draft model as well, so it makes sense. They feel he’s going to be a first round pick one day.

That's fine, but when it comes to a national measuring stick for recruiting and high school football, I'm not looking at Chicago at the top of the tier. And I've lived here my whole life.

Marshall might be the best player in Chicago and or the state, but for Rivals to say he's the best player in America at his position and there are only 22 players in America better than him is a bit of a stretch. Now you compound that with the fact that he plays for Fenwick and suddenly Notre Dame fans are all FOMO about him not expressing interest in ND. Burgess is probably getting a bit of an inflated national ranking as well. It's fine, though.

These rankings are going to look significantly different come November, too.

Playing middle linebacker for Simeon this year per Irish Illustrated, perhaps Vyper will be his position early then a move to SDE a la Burnham? I know there were rumblings that he may be a 3 tech long term

I think this kid may be slightly over-rated nationally and under-rated by ND fans... if that is possible.

Honestly....I think this kids is going to be a stud. I could easily see him getting meaningful reps this upcoming fall. Similar to the reps Traore got as a true frosh.

I don't think anybody thought Burgess was a Vyper. I think most saw him as a SDE/3T hybrid. A guy who had the bend to play on the strongside, and had the frame to get up to 290 and play inside.

They are the same things. It was the Army AA Bowl until a few years or so ago. Army stopped sponsoring so it switched to just the "All-American Bowl" and now the Navy is sponsoring so it's the Navy AA Bowl. NBC Sports owns it though.
