My thing is it's not CJ's fault that Tommy (so far) has whiffed at QB in the 2023 class and foolishly put all of his eggs in the basket of someone who strung the program along for months and he shouldn't feel pressure to reclassify.

He doesn’t.

Carr has taken enough classes to EE anywhere. He has taken enough classes to reclassify anywhere. He can stay 4 full years if he so chooses. It’s never been conveyed that ND is pressuring him to do anything. CJ has simply given himself all options, mostly done before anything related to ND.

I was as critical of the staff as anybody back in March for going all in on Moore, but it's not entirely their fault they really whiffed. They were told they had their guy, thought they had it locked up, and then the goal posts kept on moving on a verbal commit. Lesson learned for Rees and Freeman I'm sure, but they still landed Carr which was a huge get and it only proved that Moore wasn't a silent commit after all.

I agree that Carr shouldn't feel pressure to reclassify, but it's honestly the best move for both himself and ND. We picked up a number of talented freshmen in the 2021 class as we saw last year. Buchner may or may not be one of those, we'll see. We've got a lot more talent coming in still. The sooner Carr can get reps, learn the offense, and establish himself as the man they think he is, the better chance Freeman has success and solidifies himself as the future of this program. If he struggles out of the gate he may not get a lot of time to right the ship given the fact he came in with no HC experience and BK left him a pretty good team to work with. For Carr he's better off coming in and getting experience with the young talent, even if Buchner ends up being the starter for a few years. If Carr doesn't come till 2024 and another QB ends up flipping and winning the job before he makes it to campus it might delay Carr's career and his Draft perspective.

It's to kickoff the season in Michigan, plus the students don't have school cuz it's still summer break.
Correct. Michigan varsity football is Friday nights besides the first games of the season, which are a Thursday.

Thankfully we get far better recruits out of Michigan in 1 class than Indiana can produce in 10 years.

CJ is having a rough night so far.

Just sacked for fumble which led to a TD. Saline down 9-0.

He also has no line, no good wide receivers. He's not playing good competition at all, but his Saline team looks pretty horrendous.

Wow, someone REALLY hates Greyhammer,… and freedom,… probably
Haha.
The joke was at the expense of the sky is falling crowd, and had nothing to do with you. Lighten up.
Sorry, I'm not privy to that. I am high on CJ Carr. That's why I purchased the stream. He's made some nice passes that were dropped. He really has a poor team. He's starting to run the ball due to pressure.

He's going to regret not reclassifying if he has to put up with this not so impressive team for 2 years.

Probably needs to hire some douche who couldn't hack it as a coach who uses a hula hoop and a broom to rework his throwing motion. It's the ND QB commit tradition.

I’m glad you said you’re high on CJ,… because you hadn't not said you hated him yet,…

I could see him entering the '23 class after this game. His team is no bueno. I don't mean to piss anyone off, but he's been sacked several times for big losses, turnovers, made a lot of errant throws. But, he just dropped a 40-45 yard dime to a kids outside shoulder. Sick pass. Thankfully the kid caught it. Those are the special things he can do, even when he's getting his ass kicked in score and looks bad 75% of the time. He has the shock plays that only he is capable of making.

Valid.

I can say unequivocally, if Tyler Buchner were in CJ Carr's shoes tonight, he'd run for 500 yards against this weak competition. CJ is 99% arm talent. And yes, that's okay.
