Scott: Distance a huge factor

ND Fans: Yeah, all right! This time it will be different.

Also Scott: Georgia and Miami tied w/ND for #1

LMFAO when are you all going to stop listening to what these kids say and start paying attention to what they do?
Are the fans really the concern? Who cares what the fans think, it just seems ND coaches are all in on him again like they were with Bowen last year. Are the coaches going to get played again? Do they feel like he's just gravy to the dline class or do we need someone else interior wise? I like most think we absolutely need another interior player.

The answer is always take both, take all, take everyone, lol.

But, post Spring, I'm just not really worried about this recruitment in the slightest. They have Sevillano at NT in this class. And, Onye has ascended up the depth chart to give them a guy who has multiple years of eligibility left.

I think the staff feels like it's playing with houses money on this one. Take it as far as they can and if they miss, whatever. Very different situation than last year with S. Where not only did you lose the talent but also the numbers needed. Interior numbers seem solid, post Spring.

He’s a bit further away that most thought he would be by his sophomore year, but there is the chance for him to get some game reps this fall, likely as the 5th DT. Cross, Mills, Rubio & Onye appear to have the two deep locked down when ND is in a four-man front.

You most likely lose 2 of those 4 after this year so need Ford to start getting game reps this year.

I was more speaking about the NT position specifically.

But, yes. DT has Ford and Hinish from the 2022 class. Then one or two of Houstan, Mukam, and Vernon from the '23 class. In '24 Young seems like a guy that could grow into it DT.

Game reps with a good spring (ala Jason Onye) will go a long way for the 2024 group.
It will be interesting to see if Onye has a really impactful first year getting meaningful reps or more like a rubio last year where he did ok. We need more out of Rubio this year, and hopefully Onye can impact games vs being more of a body out there that isn't getting abused.

Maybe he can make it for the yearly grill and chill in late July.

Singer alluded to a big recruit rumored to be coming. Then said it would be cool if it was the one from Chicago. Not sure who that would be.

I’m really trying to figure UM out. With JH they have been 10-3, 9-4, 8-5 and abysmal 2-4 in the COVID year then they have went on this playoff run. Recruiting has always been there with the exception of the last few because of JH mentally checking out thinking he was destined for the NFL.

I’m thinking the last few years is their ceiling but the average for them is and will be 10-3 to 9-4. Leaning 9-4 with the expansion of the Big10…. but with the expansion you will see UM playing a regular season game in California potentially once per year. That will only help their brand.

Their schedules during both playoff runs have been absolutely and hilariously soft. They've effectively qualified based solely on beating OSU, which they deserve credit for, but one game a schedule does-not-make.

(Ducks) I think 2021 and 2022 Michigan were better than any Kelly team since 2017. Regardless of the schedule, the advanced stats seem to agree. They did a terrific job identifying and developing guys on D and OL.

Yes, that is the part I am trying to figure out. Did they just get lucky with a good group of guys for those two years. they will probably have a pretty solid year this year as well, they are bringing back quite a bit from last year’s team. The only thing probably holding them back this season will be any sign of trouble a lot of their highly ranked NFL prospects could take a seat. Will they go back to the 10 and three, 9–4? I hope so.

(Stands up tall and states with conviction) Maybe they were better on paper, but ND would have curb-stomped them every single year* because Muck Fichigan!

Just wait until our uniforms have that Jumpman logo and the playing field is even again…
