It's just bizarre to me that Joe Schmo's like you and me can see that kind of potential for a guy with his size and ability to move that well, but nobody on any major recruiting service can.

I mean, I could see it if this was a guy like Rezac, who plays in Nebraska. But Mullins played in Georgia. Scratch that, he played in the HIGHEST CLASSIFICATION in Georgia for a state championship winning team. Especially now, North Atlanta is a buzzsaw in terms of HS football.
Driskell has a guy in every class he picks as his underrated dude who he sees as a top 100 kid.
Two years ago, Alt. Last year, Morrison (said top 50). This class, Mullins. Says he is top 100, borderline top 50 in his opinion.

Miami sites not confident in getting Scott anymore. Thought he would commit last weekend & didn’t. Think he still wants to stay close to home.
247 thinks it’s a ND/Michigan battle now.

If he goes to Michigan…I’m done.
Anyone but those bitches.
I’ve been saying I Think Michigan could land him for a while now but he almost committed to us months ago so there’s a reason why he was gonna come here

He also thought Josh Barajas was a top 50 player back in ‘15

Yep.
He talks about that all the time as his biggest miss.
Barajas was lazy and wanted to party, not play football.
A lot of people thought Barajas was top 100. He and Ewell are probably the two biggest misses I can think of in fifteen years

Ewell not developing into an O-lineman’s worst nightmare was a head-scratcher for me. Dayne Crist, Ishaq Williams, Greg Bryant, Derrick Allen, Jordan Johnson were all guys that might have been overrated, but I was expecting at least a little more production out of.

Ishaq is one of my first thoughts. James Aldridge, Crist, Buchner, Davonte Neal, Amir Carlisle, Gary Gray, Gunner Kiel, Wimbush, Demetrius Jones, Alize Mack, Justin Brent, Tee Shephard

Alice Mack had one really good season. Which is as many as Col Kmet. I’ll get thumbs down but Mack had as good an ND career as Kmet did.

Haha.
Back to Scott. It would be great if he came to ND - things sound more promising than they did 24 hours ago.

Mostly because you asked for it, but also because

Just saying I literally can remember maybe a handful of snaps that Barajas and ewell ever saw action in. That’s wild for two recruits that highly ranked. Jordan Johnson I think I tried to block out of my mind. Unfortunately there have been quite a few highly ranked busts at ND

Yes. But there’s a difference between Barajas/Ewell/Johnson types who barely even saw the field and Mack/Wimbush/even Buchner who may not have lived up to their recruiting rankings but started multiple games for us.

Ewell is a physical enigma, because I recall him looking the part when he started practice in 2017. I mean, he looked very imposing. A 320 pounder who swam competitively. That's pretty crazy. Meanwhile, Hinish looked like a beachball his first year and apparently threw up his first practice.

Yet, Ewell was the one who could never get things going, while 3-star Hinish became a mainstay on the DL for years.

Prister and O’Malley have said they saw one practice of Ewell and thought it was unlikely he would ever contribute at Notre dame. That practice had to be terrible. I have heard that about Hinish as well. Man he ended up awesome

Actually it would probably be Xavier Watts for 2020 so that was an okay call but not a home run on Driskells part.
I was a big Watts fan. I saw him play once when visiting relatives after he committed to ND.
I don’t it’s him trying to predict home runs. Just he can’t believe how badly some kids are rated. That’s how he feels about Mullens this year.

I am 50/50 on Scott, Michigan getting involved is not surprising. I would feel better if he visited for a game.
