Let’s look at who ND should have in its ‘24 class.
I’m not talking pipedream, or kids like Rushing who wanted the money.
Literally only kids that weren’t NIL kids that ND should have.
Here is what ND’s ‘24 class should be;
QB Carr
RB Young
RB Williams
WR Williams
WR Gilbert
WR Canion
WR Robinsin
TE Larsen
TE Nelson
OL Lambert
OL Moore
OL Jones
OL Brewer
OL Brix/Prescod
DL Scott
DL Wafle
DL Thomas
DL Mullins
DL Young
LB KVA
LB Shaw
LB Kahoun
CB Beasley
CB Moore
CB Hobbs
S Johnson
S Menke
S Ziglar/Miles/Andrews/Gallegos
That’s 28, which is fine in today’s transfer happy environment.
A few up there people might question about “should” be in ND’s class.
Nelson: NU as been 4-8 average the past 5 seasons. They stink. If you are going to pull a top 50 kid out of Nebraska, it would be now, especially a kid who was a ND fan & no loyalty to Nebraska.
Moore: in state kid who was passed the way ND (Heistand) didn’t offer or recruit him
Canion: ND knew about the travel concerns & did nothing to alleviate them.
Robinson: wanted to commit, ND passed.
Brewer: Rudolph passed on him for Knapp.
Brix: Was very interested in ND early, ND transition from HH to Rudolph killed the recruitment. You could replace him with Prescod & I am fine with it.
KVA: ND kid through & through. Doesn’t mind leaving home, very religious, high academic kid.
Shaw: slow played him a bit. High academic kid. If pushed hard for earlier, probably get him.
Beasley: another ND kid. Got caught up in hometown team Tennessee being #1 last year & committed. Have to get him on the OV & close the deal.
Lambert: come on. We all know. Catholic, high academic, OT, from the north.
Scott: see Lambert. Kid actually wants to stay north, from catholic school in Chicago.
Wafle: we all know.
Mencke: we all know.
Ziglar/Miles/Gallegos: ND screwed the pooch thinking they were getting others.
How would you feel if that was our class above?
