Just out of general curiosity, what are the nicest areas / nicest neighborhoods of South Bend? As mentioned, I've lived in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and now Houston, and I am generally/weirdly curious as to various cities, their trajectory, gentrification, etc. - especially in relation to the local universities. All are different, but I find them to still be interesting.
The areas along North Shore Drive, Riverside Drive, and generally the areas east of the river and south of campus are all very nice.

I bullshit you not, in the Justin Scott to OSU thread on IB, Driscoll is blaming Brian Kelly for Keon Keely & indirectly for Scott.

He is placing zero blame on Freeman, zero.
It’s all Al Washington’s fault and Brian Kelly for not doing better in the past.

The only hope we have is we pull off some big wins and Hartman makes noise but problem is ND better bring in another stud QB because we can’t throw away 2024 on guys with zero experience

The blunders like telling Mencke to go pound sand bother me more than losing a guy like Scott, who we never led for. Despite what the beat guys said we never were in great position for Scott.

Blame the coaches for the blunder. There was early mythology than we had the inside track for Scott because he went to a catholic school in Chicago but if you paid attention to what was coming from his camp he was never an ND lean.

the amount of people out of Freeman after he “only” went 9-4 with one of the worst starting QBs in FBS football and signed one of ND’s best classes in 20 years is remarkable. You guys really thought the 35 year-old who was a DC at Cincinnati 2 years prior was going to immediately sign top 5 classes and go to the playoff?

I wonder how much different the narrative would be right now if we don’t lose those Marshall and Stanford games last year. Both still make me sick to my stomach tbh.

Im out. His appeal was recruiting. I acknowledge it takes better recruiting then Kelly era to maintain with NIL. I acknowledge last years class may have had a higher blue chip ratio. The actual coaching drop off showed more than I expected in year one. I am hearing Freeman’s name way too little in recruits mouth this cycle and forced to thumbs up way too much his Notre Dame community outreach. I hope I am wrong but we have now moved into the banking on a lucky season with Hartman to rebolster recruiting. If we win 2 out of 3 of USC, Clemson, and OSU as great as that is, if you drop just one trap game your right back to status quo. I am prattling, but my real point is he pivoted way to fucking quick to behaving like a CEO head coach, he did not earn that in any way and if he does not get his hands back on making the defense great again and recruiting his tenure is gonna be a flop and we would all hate that.
