Insiders are saying that Doboer apparently "messed it up" and that Sayin wanted to stay at Bama and gave them a chance...no idea what that means...almost sounds like processed, but there is no way lol

Taking Austin Mack as a transfer would be my guess as to what messed it up since he was technically a '24 that reclassified. To give DeBoer some credit, he got to watch Mack in practice all Fall. He knows what he's bringing in.

Not gonna lie, I absolutely hate the mediocre to average programs like Miami and A&M who buy players that they have no business getting, and would otherwise never get, given their on-field performance. I completely understand schools like UGA, OSU, Oregon, and Texas getting these type of players. They’re serious contenders for National Titles and would probably get a lot of those same kids if they weren’t dropping bags. These players would laugh at Miami and A&M.

its better players are spread around mediocre programs than end up at a powerhouse that is stockpiling talent like the old days

I agree. The good thing is that - thus far anyway - the A&M/Miami approach has not resulted in a lot of on-the-field success. I suppose Mike Elko could change that, but I'm not holding my breath.

Saban's value to the University was gazillion dollars...
Without question. Enrollment from in and out of state students went up while he was there 60%, the economic impact on Tuscaloosa was in the hundreds of millions, the value of homes in town went up significantly, you name it.

A lot of these 2024 signees probably feel pissed off Saban kept this from them until signing. Combine that with the literal goat leaving + below market NIL and you're going to have a ton of deflections.

These 2 schools sucked for decades, not years, before they started buying transfers and players.

I'm enjoying it. Thoroughly. It goes along with the "I don't like college football anymore because all the changes make me sad". Change is all about how you adapt, overcome and achieve. Some will, some won't.

These two are proof positive that just throwing money around and or grabbing a bunch of players off of the Portal guarantee you absolute dick in the end. I think Ole Miss could be joining this list somewhat soon too and Miami is going to be the next TAMU in that they're going to likely have to buy one coach to go away and another to replace him.

It's all a good bit of fun for me right now. I haven't been this engaged with the sport in about 15 years.

I’ll admit that I wanted Sayin over Carr early in the process .
Hopefully we have the right one!
Wasnt Sayin a big fan of BK?

Perhaps if Tommy does end up at LSU, he follows him there. He has stated that he is a big fan of TD Tommy.

The changes taking place in college football aren't personal challenges for fans to overcome. Some fans, like yourself, find them enjoyable, and others believe they are shit.

Maybe not personal challenges, but the grievances they feel could certainly be.

We've become a society of grievance and our sports culture certainly is not immune to that. The final straw came when certain people were given the ability to profit and the freedom of movement. That made it too much for some people. I just find that interesting and funny at the same time. I get it, I understand, and I'll chuckle a bit about it.

There doesn't seem to be any plausible solutions at this point. In the end, they're going to play ball for three months in autumn on Saturdays. You watch or you don't. I happen to find the Alabama fans who are suddenly done with it all rather interesting tales more than any.

Loy has CB'd him to OSU officially. Wild what OSU and GA are doing in the portal. Ole Miss too.

Legitimately hilarious considering how OSU fans considered Air Noland a top 10 talent who could potentially be the best QB in the country. They’ve been talking him up for a year.

I'd wager a guess that the vast majority of any Alabama recruiting class is only there because of Saban. And they all took an NIL discount to sit under his learning tree.

Take Saban away and why are you in Tuscaloosa, Alabama? They didn't pick Alabama because of their abiding love of houndstooth. Stick around and you get to play average SEC football and receive a 13th grade diploma in a town no one can find on a map.

This is a well connected fan account. OSU has opened it up to fans? Cause whatever they're doing seems to have flown past FU ND.
