As much as I hate Michigan (more than any other team), I am beginning to hate Ohio State nearly as much. I really do hope Michigan keeps beating Ohio State and then getting pummeled in the playoffs or to USC. Obviously I hope we win too. I also hope Scott is there to witness ND beat OSU in SB. I think they lose to both ND and Michigan in 2023. As absurd as it is, that would put Day on the hot seat and perhaps hinder their recruiting slightly. 2 losses would most definitely keep them out of the playoffs and then maybe they can lose a bowl game to USC/Oregon/LSU or something.

Yeah, at this point I dislike pOSU more than Michigan. We honestly compete for more high-end talent with them. Their fans are absolutely insufferable. Ryan Day loses 2 games this year and people will absolutely be calling for his job

ND hasn’t done much on the field to out recruit either. Winning cures a lot.

We have to beat them on the field. It’s as simple as that. As much as I love Notre Dame and hate OSU, we have done jack shit in our opportunities against them. They own us right now, and that’s the shitty reality.
We need to put a 2012 Oklahoma beat down on them this year.

Amil, Vernon, styles went that way.
Styles is a good example although early in cycle but osu really wanted him.

Don’t think Vernon had a committable offer to osu, and I think amil was between us and Kentucky although osu did want him(could be wrong there). I definitely didn’t think we were going to get amil.

Vernon 100% had a commitable offer to OSU. He was the 9th ranked player in the country when he committed to ND.
OSU insiders were putting in picks for him to OSU & already including him in their class. It was a big deal at the time. Then he made a comment that he never wanted to go to OSU, he wanted to leave home, & after that OSU fans acted like OSU never wanted him. But that was just sour grapes.

I get married the 22nd. As a ND fan, can't have that much good in one weekend. No chance he commits to us the 23rd

10-4. I know he committed early and didn't follow him as closely then. With his play his Jr/Sr year no one really came after him which is not normal for highly rated players that commit early, especially to ND.

This is always a tricky narrative. I can assure you that schools (OSU included) reached out. That stuff only gets reported if it has legs and the interest is reciprocated. Misconception amongst most fans of recruiting.

I don't know, this is a unique situation. He had really rough 2 years on the field because he said he was dealing with a lot of stuff off the field. There's potential there no doubt, but it will come down to his commitment to his craft on and off the field. I don't know what was going on off the field, nor do I need to, but it obviously significantly impacted him.

Manti's decision coming to Notre Dame came down to a prayer. Let's hope this is the same for KVA!

Also Pete Carroll made his mom cry maybe Ryan Day can do the same for KVA’s fam

OSU gives you everything you could want.

Championship level football.
Strong spiritual element in the program.
Good academic programs if you want it.
Great social atmosphere.

They are going to be tough to beat for anyone.
