I'll believe it when I see it.
Pretty much where I’m at.

I’m glad they seem prepared to build the DL class without him and add him, possibly, later. That’s the right strategy and this way missing doesn’t have the same impact.

I posted before that a poster at II said he knows someone who’s in close with the family. And he’s seen text messages from the father about what it’ll take to get Elijah. Now, it’s the internet and everyone is super cool, I get it. But that’s quite story to just make up. I guess we’ll see.

I had the thought that in addition to academic exceptions, ND is making some NIL exceptions in the pay for play front this cycle. Otherwise why be confident they'd win here. I highly doubt that is the case, but just unclear why multiple sources are saying ND is the leader if there wasn't something there.

I know it's different because Sam is an enrolled student/player, but hasn't there been rumors lately that Hartman is getting a boatload of NIL? It makes me wonder with this being a different cycle of recruits and NIL outcomes from last year are rearing their heads (for better or worse) and that some families might be looking at ND's NIL package a bit differently than last year. Just a thought.

Could very well be. The obvious difference between Sam Hartman and Dante Moore is the amount of snaps played in college football at present.

It's an interesting model. Giving someone like Dante a bunch of money up front before he plays in college is a bit like the Panthers giving Bryce Young a big signing bonus despite him never having played a down in the NFL. It's different, but in some ways very much alike.

Really no different at WR, DE, etc.

One big difference is that Bryce Young isn't then free to pull up stakes and become a free agent again.

IB says they spoke with both Rushing & Viliamu-Asa last night after the coaches’ visits.
But a large number on here get weird about IB info, so I won’t post it. But it was positive.

How does it provide leverage to include a school that does not participate in up front NIL?
Well, if you name a leader or let it leak that there is a leader that isn't said university, then said university needs to ratchet up the NIL to land him, right?

I supposed. Unless you just call the prospect's bluff since you know NIL is a priority and his named "leader" doesn't participate.

Notre Dame should get a free pass to up their NIL offerings 5 players per class. Some type of contract or play for play contract. It's the only way we will be competitive with todays world. If you have 5 players you can pay you can go out and get a top QB, WR, DE, DB and whoever else.

So, the expectation would be the college football world (all of college football elite) calls Elijah's bluff, don't offer him anything, and he ends up at ND though he doesn't really want too?

That seems more far fetched than a prospect using ND to for stability while he waits for the big paydays.

Give me an NIL QB and 4 DT/DE.

Ok, thanks Coach D
You say that every post like a broken record.

Do you have some personal problem with me?

I don’t call other posters “Loy” every time they post 247 stuff (which is 100 times a day, every day) on here.

I don’t even get along with Driskell, but Ryan Roberts is really good.

I’m literally the opposite of Driskell.
I hate Mountain Dew, I played at the D1 level (just a year), I think BK is a great coach, I’m the same age as him and taller & under 200 lbs, and don’t think Freeman is the Mesiah.

My point has more to do with NIL schools going head-to-head versus a kid saying ND is his leader. I feel a TN vs Oregon battle would offer up a bidding war moreso than if ND were involved. Idk, just how I see this landscape, I guess.

End of the day, money talks, so I agree with the gist of what you're saying. I just feel like if I'm looking for money, I'm more likely to pit the big boy NIL schools against each other (Bowen --> OU and Oregon last cycle...even though he was committed to ND, those other two were the ones throwing dollars at him).

i think most only get weird about Driskell but Ryan is a really good guy. i watch a lot of IB podcasts on youtube and really like Ryan as he is always positive with a smile where as Driskell can have that pissed off look if he doesn't like what someone posts in the chat on the side.

Notre Dame has been the safe, early option since the beginning of time. Wait out the big time offers once crunch time comes
