This is Charlie Brown. Headed to the NFL draft. Making an NFL roster. Getting the nod as the starting kicker. Lining up for his first NFL field goal. This is all a very transparent and telegraphed rug pull, right?
Loy obviously copying off of meMy (probably wrong) prediction: Bowen to ND
Bowen's going to pry open the guaranteed NIL door at ND, they're just not going to call it that.
and make us recall the Bowen/Hillman defense with great fondness.
Yeah that theory keeps coming up of several boards and it doesnt make any sense. Obviously the coaches and players are still fighting to keep Bowen and if he already decommitted they wouldn't be pushing so hard. I do think he is torn and the only ones that know his decision right now are his family because they arent giving the media on either side anything after the click baiting shit show that has gone on the past 4 months of his recruitmentI don’t buy the “staff asked him to hold off on decommitting” theory. That convo wouldn’t have happened until the in-homes last week and by that point none of our other guys are flipping b/c we lost Bowen. If he was ready to flip, just let him walk.
Agree with those who say he has been legit torn and/or can’t tell someone no. But who can’t he tell? That is the question.
So both Loy and Drumm are digging in and holding the line now.
Look at the bright side, we haven't had a "fun," "exciting," "reading don't kill myself books," signing day in a while (mostly because ND is never in on 5 stars on signing day). This year is different. Win or lose it's something to get you jacked up.
Even if he signs, there is nothing stopping him from jumping in the portal a year from now. College football is messed up.
I thought this was itYes, apparently Oregon has always been Eli's dream school.
It needs to start with the top high school teams and conferences in the country. This recruitment is a great demonstration of why geography is such a big deal in recruiting. It's not just the distance to home, or the cost of plane tickets, etc.
It's the high school coach, and the girlfriend, and the uncles, and the best friend/quarterback, who are all wanting the same thing from you and telling you about it daily. The only one pushing ND is the mom (a tale as old as time).
How does an 18 year old spurn all of them? It's a pretty impossible situation to be in for Peyton and therefore ND. This is also why relationships with high school coaches are HUGE in recruiting, which is something Kelly never understood at ND. This staff is making inroads with it now but it takes time to build those
I agree Bi Game James. It needs to start with the top high school teams and conferences in the country.
I preemptively did so as not to waste any time. Waste of money? Probably. But I could’ve just lost that money on San Jose State today. I still did but I could have lost it then too.The internet/recruiting has broken my brain to the point I hope he signs with ND so I can sign up for OU Insider and troll Parker Thune
The ESD period still lasts 3 days, right?
So he can wait until Friday at midnight Central time, for the ESD, right?
I’m pretending I didn’t just read Fong’s update.
Also for what it’s worth, this is coming from outside of South BendPer Fong, growing odds he sticks
Fong done fong’d all over himselfDidn't Fong CB him to Oklahoma like two days ago?
