Yeah to your point earlier NIL was not the driving force here. It was an incredible amount of pressure from people within his immediate circle with connections to Oklahoma. The odds of telling your girlfriend, Coach, friends, etc. to all fuck off is low unless you’re very bought it in on doing your own thing for your own reasons.

Haha! Not really a counterpoint. If the girlfriend was savvy at all, she would realize that by far the safest place to send her 5-star boyfriend is ND. He'll be busy all the time and she'll remain the most attractive girl he ever gets to spend time with...

In contrast, I doubt a whole lotta relationships survive schools like FSU or Alabama. I am guessing Oklahoma has more in common with those 2 than ND.
