Its funny that you even have to make the argument that Saban is a great coach. No one in the modern era has done anything like he has. Its an irrefutable fact that he is the best coach of his time.

It's a fact that he is by far the most successful coach of his time. It's not a fact that he is the "best" coach. It's apples to oranges. Phil Jackson if he hadn't gone to the Knicks... Bill Belichick had he retired when Brady left... were indisputably the "best" in the same way.

Having by far the most deep and talented team in every, single game except one per year makes things extremely hard to compare. When a team had similar talent, like those Urban's Florida teams, Les Mile's LSU teams, Dabo's Clemson teams, and the current UGA team, Saban did not dominate them or win most of them. He split.

Kelly has gone 12-0 twice at ND with talent superior to his opponents.

In fact, until Alabama, Saban was not tracking as an all-time great on on any level. He looked more like Jimbo Fisher. He basically had the same record at all of his stops that other decent coaches had. He was winning the games those teams were supposed to win and losing the ones they were supposed to lose. Yes, he won an NC at LSU, but that's because LSU consistently has the talent to do that. Ed Ogeron and Les Miles won NCs there in the same era! That's about as clear a comparison as it comes.

Something OBVIOUSLY happened at Alabama to allow him to have that success and sustain it. And that something is cheating (think MONEY).

Can anyone interpret? Is there something noteworthy about Drayk Bowen tweeting out what looks like a pretty routine graphic? And what does Assaf's tweet mean? I'm pretty online and also pretty into recruiting and am totally stumped lol.

Since he has posted both OU and A&M maybe he is saying you are out of luck.

The store has been steady that he is going in these visits with his brother. We’ll have to see.

Bowen is going to tamu for visit so ND/Drayk tweeted a pic reminding him about ND, mick then tweeted a johnny manzel (tamu) with a drake lyric of basically implies, he aint going to be in the class because if your having to do this now, he is already out....not literally but figuratively....foreshadowing

If you’re using that logic then Gerry DiNardo should’ve won a NC at LSU before Saban got there. Saban is the one who built LSU to what it is today IMO. Miles rode the coattails and instead of winning multiple NC w/ all that talent, the best he could do was back door into one despite two losses. Saban coming to Bama in ‘07 had something to do w/ LSU’s failures as well. Orgeron used the same template b/c the foundation was set.

Bama went through Mike Dubose, Mike Price, Dennis Franchione (who left Bama for TAMU) & Mike Shula before Saban turned them around. Bama was sanctioned for “cheating” before Saban got there. The program was a mess. Arguing that Saban isn’t the GOAT is like arguing that Tom Brady isn’t the GOAT. We may not like it…but it’s true.

And he prepares them for the NFL. Most of these top rated recruit have the NFL as their ultimate goal. Regardless of playing time, they know that Bama offers the best path.

If we lose Bowen I won't fault the effort, at all. However, I may (depending on how things play out) fault the strategy. We need S's in the worst way and this recruitment has been far from locked down for such a long time that we should've been recruiting others much harder, much earlier. It should've been recruit 5 for 4 with Bowen and Downs as BPA's you add regardless. If we lose Bowen and only add Minich, then S is Bellamy, Shuler, and Minich over 2 cycles. I like those guys and in Shuler's case I think he's a total stud. But that is not enough.

Think it's somewhat concerning that Loy and Singer are reporting different things at the moment. To me, those 2 are the most connected guys. Sometimes Singer is on something first, sometimes Loy is. If it turns out that Singer's info is correct, I'm honestly not all that concerned. If Loy's info is though......then I think Bowen flips.

I certainly am not enthralled with Loy, but in no world can I hold Loy and singer as equivalent. Also I remember reading recently that singer may have hit on Reapers husband, and I have to have my IE brothers back

There is a difference.

Loy has developed relationships over the years & always has multiple sources.

Singer had one source before, Lance Taylor. That was a big secret, but now Taylor is gone I will go ahead & tell everyone. Lance used Singer like a nickel whore too. Fed him what ND wanted out, not the truth. He had Singer 100% convinced Shipley was going to ND. He tried using Singer to get a positive message out & build momentum in the recruitment. ND was never his leader. It was Clemson all along. Shipley did his commitment edits weeks before his announce and a few of us knew & told Singer, & he got REALLY worked up and refused to believe it & threatened us. LOL
On the same day he said ND wasn’t in it for Jayden Thomas I told him not only were they, ND was his leader. He got mad, then like 3 days later put it in his Lucky Charms.
Remember Armistead & Rooks? ND passed on for Onye. I told him that too & he argued with me. Then the next night Armitage announced his top 3 without ND in it & Singer posted he was “shocked” then banned me from posting in the thread…LOL

Singer now struggles for good sources because he lives 1000 miles away & tries to build them over the phone. He used to go see Lance in person, that’s how he built that relationship.

Singer will be right 10-20% if the time. Loy is probably closer to 60-70%.
