Good catch, I edited the post. Freeman said next weekend. I just posted it incorrectly.

I haven't read any of the recaps from yesterday besides some of KKelly/Rivals. He did make a point to say how happy/excited was coming into the stadium, the only one more hyped than Keeley.

I know there's talk of another commit yesterday, is that possibly an easter egg?

Just spit ballin'...

Reported that OSU pushed for the commitment and he chose to visit ND instead

11W expects this to be over soon and it's 50-50 --- Maybe it's already over?

Matt/ISD says commitment in May. Maybe that means publicly official commitment?

FREEBIE...

"Walking out of that tunnel and fans saying, 'O-Line U' was my favorite part. They know the history of what coach Hiestand has done with the O-line. They want what's best for me and that is Notre Dame."

It really seems it’s just a matter of how big a Buckeye fan he was growing up

This is the type of kid that's supposed to be going to one of the catholic schools in Cincy and make this a slam dunk recruitment.

Maybe I'm in the minority here but if Absher is in first, I'd like to see the staff wait here.

I mean, anytime we can get a recruiting victory for an Ohio player that OSU really wants, I'm in 99% of the time. But, I don't see going to 5 OL making sense when we have other position groups that I'd rather load numbers on like DB or DL. Or any defensive ATH.

Heck, I'd rather take both Limar and Love than a 5th OL. I'd rather take a long project type DB than a 5th OL. There is a fairly sizeable list of things that come before a 5th OL, IMO.

I agree. We have enough Guards and I don't think he can play Tackle.

All of this, of course if there's inside knowledge on if we have impending post spring transfers could make u think differently.

I'm also looking at it that one of 4 is Freeling.

Or injuries. The Tanona situation has been in the back of my mind since I read of it.

I think the OG/C room while adding up is too unproven to consider it filled up for now. If Spindler or another underclassmen had seized a job then that sets off a chain of events and allows you to pencil in roles more but it’s very in the air on the interior, compared to OT stalwarts we now have. Plus what if things aren’t all sunshine with some kids and Hiestand? They didn’t sign up for Hiestand. You gotta expect at least some attrition through any coaching change.

This was actually my line of thinking with Pendleton and Siereveld. From what I can see they seem to be very similar in body type and playing style. Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like their skill set is very copy and paste one with the other and we maybe need to go for more true tackles and/or swing type of guys like Jagusah and Monroe.

My concern is that we might get Freeling and not Jagusah or vice versa. Wouldn't want to be behind on the numbers then.

I am also really concerned on getting Tanona back in action. That car wreck he was in was bad and not on his body but rather his brain. I hope he doesn't have to medically retire.

Harry is hurting on numbers right now as a lot of the young guys all had medical hardships right when getting enrolled. Depth stinks right now.

Maybe depth that is ready to play right now is an issue. But this class won't help with that either. We could sign 10 OL in the '23 class and it does nothing to fix that problem. What we need is for HH to coach up the 9 from the last two cycles. Another 5 puts us at 14 over 3. Seems like overkill to me. Even if you back out Tanona, that's 13.

It's all going to come down to how well these last two classes can be coached up and stay healthy.

I think you take up to 5 if you’re ND and they’re the right guys. Don’t want a situation like start of last year where a couple injuries and a couple busts == doomsday.

Remember, in two years time you likely need at least two starters from this class as RS frosh because of pending draft entries from the ‘21 class.
