This is a timely bump, but not for Olive Garden reasons. On Thursday the "Big Boy" locomotive is passing through Fort Wayne. It's a good excuse to see the last giant steam locomotive, as well as eating at one of the fine Italian restaurants (Salvatoris) in Little Italy, Fort Wayne.
I saw when it passed through the western Chicago suburbs but was not able to make it out there. Would have been neat to see!

I had totally forgotten about it when it was on its way out to Philadelphia and got stuck in traffic in New Haven wondering what in the hell all these people were doing on the side of the road. Have to admit, it was an awesome spectacle to see that behemoth on the tracks

My 2 year old son is going through a big car/train phase so I was showing him videos of it last night. It looks like it would be awesome to see in person.

By the time I seen it, the engine had unfortunately passed by, but I did get a video of the railcars which themselves were pretty sweet too

Ok, I looked this thing up. Not what I was expecting. I expected this at the front of the train:

Man....we used to have a Frish's big boy in Anderson growing up....I used to crush some of the big boy burgers back in the day and top it off with a hot fudge sunday. My parents used n to hate having to feed me

We used to have 3 Frisch's restaurants within 20 minutes of us. My wife and kids loved them, I was always kind of lukewarm. All 3 have closed now, and I'm a bit pissed about it...there's still one 40 minutes away near Cincinnati so the damn trip for mediocre diner food just doubled in length

Bruno’s pizza.

My buddy just bought a place in Elkhart. It’s on friends.

This is definitely some AI slop but love a good bread pudding. I work the Southeast and Texas and am visiting twice a month. To hit the $60 per day per diem, I make it a must to get bread pudding every restaurant I hit and do a true one bite review. Lou’s Full Serv in Jackson, MS is still the best I’ve ever had. Some very quality ones in Beaumont, TX too.

Edit: had to find a pic on my phone of it at Lou’s

I made bread pudding for Christmas a couple of years ago and used Krispy Kreme glazed doughnuts in place of the bread…..pretty tasty recipe but keep the insulin pump handy.
