Then a bunch of 4 star kids.
Then a ton of 3 star kids.
Then the guys who don't even get there.

NDSU is an anomaly in many ways but pumped out 3 consecutive NFL QBs....2 in the top 3 picks. Should ND have went after Carson Wentz or Trey Lance? Absolutely fucking not. ND and the blue bloods absolutely do the right thing. ND has just happened to have bad luck in recruiting the position since Jimmy. Sooner or later we'll rip off 2-3 great ones.

Virtually everyone inside/outside the Gug feels good.

The Gug feeling good or being confident is the new kiss of death.

My favorite was when it was so clearly obvious that CJ Williams and Amorion Walker weren't going to Notre Dame, and they just made the decision to not replace them in the class. I thought it was just a Del Alexander issue, but maybe it is more than that.

I agree with Dale. And personally I could care less if a HS kid’s perceived potential out of HS is Trevor Lawrence. So far, in NFL circles, I would not think that year one showed that Trevor Lawrence is anything extraordinary until you surround him with extraordinary talent. We’ll get who we get and we’ll all root for ND on Saturdays no matter what. Also, I think Buchner is going to lite it up at ND and could care less if he ever makes an NFL roster.

It's pretty different from Shipley. In that case everybody knew there was a another team as a legitimate threat. Right now there doesn't seem to be a clear rival, though that may certainly change.

IDK, his recruitment seems pretty atypical. I'm reluctant to draw direct comparisons with other instances where ND got left at the alter.

The IB crew said on their mailbag today that Dante just wants to make sure that he's making the right decision by taking his visits. He's not the type of kid who will commit somewhere and then keep going on visits.
