My understanding is the 2 remaining targets at LB are Ausberry and M'Pemba and ND would take both of them if they wanted to come.

It’s also known from his brother’s recruitment that the father is not partial to LSU & there is some resentment involved with him & the administration over how he was treated in the last scandal he had nothing to do with.

I'm not just making things up - if I'm wrong, it's because "insiders" have mentioned that Xavier Nwankpa has a bad official visit, and Kyle being his host played a big role in that.

First place I heard it was from Driskel. I’m not going to post paywall info specifics, but the word is it wasn’t handled well on the host side. It’s on their board if someone wants to search for it on their own.

I’m fine if you don’t believe Driskel and I understand why you might not. I’m simply saying it’s not something I inferred or made up.

And FWIW, I was a sports reporter for a decade. I take literally everything a player or coach tells the media for what they are - just some sound bytes to placate the reporter. Most people are polite, and of course a safety recruit would like the player Kyle Hamilton became.

Right. Kyle Hamilton--the 3rd highest drafted DB in Notre Dame history-- allegedly wasn't diligent enough in baby-sitting a 17yo on his OV, so we ought to be careful about letting him recruit for ND? He's done more to recruit for ND by his very existence than any number of bench players or student ambassadors who would have kissed Nwankpa's ass 24/7.

The On3 LSU guy has been very bullish on both Gray & Ausberry, saying all along that despite the noise of them to ND he feels they eventually end up at LSU.

Tonight he did his updated mock class & did NOT have Gray or Ausberry in it.
He said confidence has faded on the LSU side with Ausberry & that Gray could still end up with LSU and their staff is still optimistic, but the noise for Gray to ND is deafening.
