It was, some people don't understand the difference. Not only that, they were being driven by law enforcement, was my understanding. So, plenty of training. Shit happens sometimes...
This.

I get the initial reaction was going to be less than flattering for Jagusah, and people were gonna want to blame him, but at this point, I'd have hoped people would know better and understand it was simply a "shit happens", but nope.

Not directed at anybody here, because this is more of a comment I saw on another site, basically a dude giving himself a pat on the back, and calling people out because he got grief a while back for calling Jagusah "selfish and stupid" for getting injured.

Yep- total freak accident. Those things are safe as they come if your limbs are in the vehicle. Unfortunately his arm was hanging out.
ehhh, calling them "safe" is a stretch. his arm wasn't broken by the wind. it was out of the vehicle and he rolled it. but motorized anything can be a problem when it intersects with the human body. golf carts, atvs, utv, electric bikes. i've heard horror stories about all of them. it's a cliche but it really does come down to the operator.

Is it possible for him to take a medical redshirt this year, and if so, how many years of eligibility would he have left?

Jagusah at this summer's team bonding outing:

I swear we did a bunch of these last year, but they must have been in another thread

I really don't see him coming back 100%. Maybe he gets healthy, but he's missed basically the greater part of 2 years of conditioning, weight training, etc, right? Even if he comes back I don't think he's going to be the same guy he was. I think he's going to need time to get back up to speed. I hope I'm wrong.

TBF, he didn't miss conditioning and weight training last summer, and if the surgery takes, he's probably going to have a good few months of conditioning and weight training ahead of him before he hits the field. Whether that's starting in May and going into September, or June and going into October.

Let's get this kid on a plane to Germany, escorted by Lance Armstrong, Barry Bonds, Ronnie Coleman, and the doctor from the Russian Olympic Team... I want stem cells, blood doping, HGH and every PED imaginable. I want him on that Connor McGregor Diet after he snapped his leg in half and opted out of drug testing. I don't care if he comes back half cyborg, book the plane ticket, disappear him into a German lab / rehab facility for 4 months and have him re-appear August 1st, ready to go.

It's a pipe dream that ND needs to move on from. If a guy can be injured and non competition for several years and come back to make an immediate impact on your team, then your team really wasnt that good to begin with. I do hope that he has been working towards an effective degree so at least someone can benefit from this.

He literally did this for our national championship run and was clearly one of if not our best o lineman those last couple of games

It is reality guy. Insult all you want. Makes no difference to me whatsoever what you think.
The guy isnt superman. Sure, it was excellent when he was healthy. He has had serious physical issues that will limit him. How much no one truly knows yet. Say he was 10-15% better than the next ND starting lineman when he was completely healthy and since then
1) Hasnt had the time in the gym
2) Hasnt had the time in physical practice

How do you expect him to maintain anywhere near that 10-15% superior playing ability?
If they guy can have multiple injuries and miss years of playtime and physical building time and STILL be superior to ND's 4-5 star talent, then that says the talent was never that good.
And I believe ND's talent is that good.

People who say things like "makes no difference what you think" and then offer long explanations usually care what other people think. And I think you sound like a total p****.

Nobody is bedwetting, it's just the reality of the situation. It's been surgery after surgery for about a year, plus all the time he missed the previous season. It takes time to get your strength back and get into form. Some never get back to where they were, like Zaire. I hope he comes back better than ever, but I wouldn't get hopes up. He may need to ease back in, or will be a step slow for awhile.

Doesn't sound like a clean break.
The issue was the soil and debris getting in the wound, and even with a 2 hr clean-out process after initial injury it still later developed into an infection. In September, the hardware failed due to bone not healing so the hardware was exchanged but infection was inhibiting some of his bone growth. In January the hardware was removed again and infection was still persistent but now he’s in a position WITHOUT infection after cycles of antibiotics and seeding directly into the bone. Fast forward to newest surgery (March 18) and the bone will be grafted and stabilized, and this will allow him time to fully heal, FINALLY!

Will have to wait for his bone to heal and muscles to regain strength with weight training before the RTP side of things with him. At minimum he's out until Summer.
