Stanford is legit. A dream school, SECOND to ND of course, but I’m Catholic and mid western. I’m glad for him. I miss Stanford being good, honestly. Far more likable than USC.

There are few scenarios that would hurt NDFB more than Stanford getting its act together. There are only so many academically minded 4-star recruits, so we can't afford to have another program threatening our niche.

The IE lifers remember the absolute fit this board threw when we lost Noor Davis to them. What a bust that kid was.

Harbaugh's team were better with less talent than what Shaw has had the last few years. Luck made up for a lot of the talent gap but their defense was just nasty. Crazy how they've fallen off despite "better" recruiting.

Lax will now come in and note that they were all on juice and had a unusually low amount of injuries etc etc... good times.

True. It killed us back in the day. The Christian McCaffrey’s of today might’ve been ND. Harbaugh hurt us for making Stanford into something. Glad we’re getting back at him.

They were certainly "it" for a while there, even after Luck and Harbaugh left. I kept waiting for that thing to fall off but it stayed alive way longer than I would have thought.

That period of 2009-17 where ND went 2-7 head to head against them did nothing to help matters, either. Three ass kickings in a row feels way better. Hope Freeman makes it four in October.

The early signing period has been brutal for Stanford. They can't sign a recruit until the kid gets through their normal admissions process, which still hasn't caught up with the rest of CFB to allow for early signees. They've lost out on a lot of good recruits that they otherwise would have landed. We need to keep our foot on their throats.

They also lost a shocking number of upperclassmen to injury and outbound transfers a couple years ago, didn't they? Then got creamed by local COVID regs. Has been a tough few years on The Farm.

Personally I like it when Stanford's good because it pushes us to up our "smart kid school that's also wins at football" game and (hopefully) gives us another quality opponent to beat each year. Also they often give USC fits. But you're right the early signing period is a problem for them and it's not clear Shaw has the juice to turn them around anymore, nor that they care about that enough to replace him.

They on the up and up. Not sure about Irvin decision , but I would of pick Stanford over ND in the beginning. Reason being early playing time and I think their after college life plan is better than ND 4 for 40 program " which isnt bad at all" Like someone mention above, You have fill out application and do your 4 essays to even get an OV. its a brutal process

I like how Stanford was last year. Terrible, hot garbage, but still beat teams many were putting way high on a pedestal (ahem, Oregon). The Ducks were absolute trash last season, lol.
Just like OSU?

I personally loved watching those Stanford offenses steamroll the PAC 12 with fullbacks and tight ends.

It was the last bastion of old school offense.

Then he should go to Harvard. They have the best 4 for 40 program and their football is about commensurate with Stanford.

We are rooting for Sedrick every game except 1

Not as long as David Shaw's smug face is there.

Stanford on the up and up, lol. That's certainly a take. A terrible one but it's one.

Recruiting rankings from 2019-2022 were 21st, 22nd, 48th, and 27th. During that time on the field '19-'21 they are 4-8, 4-2, and 3-9.

In his defense, barely anyone was around to watch those Ls pile up
